While the reading of these books are suspenseful and keep you going, there is one huge problem with the execution. In this series the author leaves you hanging at the end of each book at the pinnacle of a major issue in the story. You really have no choice but to buy the next book just to find out the outcome. I found this hugely annoying and a bit disrespectful to the readers. As I've just finished the 5th book in the series , I'll have to wait another 4 or 5 months to find out what happens to the main characters in this story. I have read many series type books from other authors but have never encountered this style of writing before. I suppose that I will do what it takes to finish this series , however I would never consider reading any other books by this author.

Very well written with intrigue and deception. It is enthralling and difficult to put down. But I must give it one star, because I dislike books that end "To be continued..."

The 5th installment of The Clifton Chronicles did not live up to my expectations. The plot was slow and cumbersome. Not at all exciting like the previous four books. I do believe the main characters have become stale.

This is one of the best series that I have ever read, it started slow and I gad a hard time getting into it, but halfway through the first book I was hooked. Once I was hooked I read the entire series in a week. If you've started it don't stop, if you haven't started it go get the series tight now. Thoroughly enjoyable, easy to read, and characters that you feel are a part of you family.

The ending ( or lack of ) left me feeling cheated and angry.

Oh, the twists, turns and intrigues leaves one cheering with every Barrington & Clifton "win" and booing at the "wins" of their adversaries. Cannot wait for the next volume.

Unless you plan to buy the next in the series due in 2016 the abrupt and unsatisfactory end of this novel will leave you angry
  • No Conclusion

Decent enough story and enjoyed parts of it. However, some of the story seemed to drag out too much, some of that may be due to the "British" feel of it. So tiresome, don't you know? (just demonstrating British dialogue). But the part I absolutely did not like and don't appreciate at all is that the novel ended on a complete cliff hanger, nothing really resolved and the next book in the series is over a year away. Not sure I'll bother with the next installment.
