Marie-Catherine d'Aulnoy (1650-1705) was a French writer, and she was considered the one who developed the genre of a classical French fairy-tale. She was brought up in a noble family but had to get married to a man who was 30 years older than she. Moreover, he was an alcohol-abuser. Her mother and she tried to get rid her husband by accusing him of treason against the crown. But in the end he was proven innocent and Marie-Catherine had to flee to England. When she returned home she established a literary salon and began to publish fairy-tale collection books. Her most popular fairy-tales were: 'The Story Of Pretty Goldilocks', 'The Blue Bird' and 'The Imp Prince'.

Once upon a time there lived a king and his queen who loved each other dearly and shared the light of their love with their whole kingdom. They cared about people and the kingdom prospered.
