Description

Meet Our Hero . . .

Gareth St. Clair is in a bind. His father, who detests him, is determined to beggar the St. Clair estates and ruin his inheritance. Gareth’s sole bequest is an old family diary, which may or may not contain the secrets of his past . . . and the key to his future. The problem is—it’s written in Italian, of which Gareth speaks not a word.

Meet Our Heroine . . .

All the ton agreed: there was no one quite like Hyacinth Bridgerton. She’s fiendishly smart, devilishly outspoken, and according to Gareth, probably best in small doses. But there’s something about her—something charming and vexing—that grabs him and won’t quite let go . . .

Meet Poor Mr. Mozart . . .

Or don’t. But rest assured, he’s spinning in his grave when Gareth and Hyacinth cross paths at the annual—and annually discordant—Smythe-Smith musicale. To Hyacinth, Gareth’s every word seems a dare, and she offers to translate his diary, even though her Italian is slightly less than perfect. But as they delve into the mysterious text, they discover that the answers they seek lie not in the diary, but in each other . . . and that there is nothing as simple—or as complicated—as a single, perfect kiss.

Something about this one, although good, had a strange romance to it. It felt weird to me, some of the quotes and such were weird. However, the ending was nice. :)

I found this story especially aligned with Hyacinth’s personality. The intriguing, exciting and mysterious tale takes you along for a ride. Her suitor faces many challenges which Hyacinth is there to help. Throughly enjoyable.

After watching the Netflix show Bridgerton I fell in love with the stories. I have read 1-7 of her books and this one is the best. All of the books are amazing really and I am constantly surprised and amazed at how Julia Quinn is able to stay in the same setting and even the same family and keep creating new story lines that entertain and are unique. I assume if your reading the comments on the seventh book you already know this. This book had me laughing out loud and I couldn’t put it down (almost to a fault to be honest haha). Anyways if you are on the fence about reading this one as well my opinion is do it, it’s one of my favorites so far.

While I’ve very much enjoyed the many Bridgerton series novels I’ve read so far, I had a couple of problems with this one. 1) I didn’t think the character of the love interest was a good match for Hyacinth. 2) I didn’t care for one of the major plot lines. Unfortunately I felt that this novel was a bit of a miss.
  • Another excellent one
