The Warrior Maids of Rivenloch...Damsels in shining armor...riding to the rescue! Deirdre, Helena, and Miriel, three kick-arse Scots wenches known as The Warrior Maids of Rivenloch, aren't about to become any man's chattel, until they meet heroes who are strong enough to tame their wild ways and worth enough to win their wayward hearts.

LADY DANGER: Book 1

Born to the blade and raised to fear no one, Deirdre of Rivenloch never shies away from a fight and never turns her back on a threat to her land or her family.  But she’s never met a man like Sir Pagan Cameliard, the bold and powerful knight who comes at the king’s command to make a marriage alliance with Rivenloch.  To save her younger sister, Deirdre tricks Pagan into marrying her instead, and now she faces a new kind of enemy who crosses swords with her by day and lays siege to her heart by night.

About Glynnis Campbell

When she's not writing swashbuckling historical romances and playing medieval matchmaker, bestselling author Glynnis Campbell (also writing as Sarah McKerrigan and Kira Morgan) is a cartoon voice, the wife of a rock star, and the mother of two young adults. She's been a ballerina, a typographer, a film composer, a piano player, a singer in an all-girl rock band, and a voice in those violent video games you won't let your kids play. She does her best writing on cruise ships, in Scottish castles, on her husband's tour bus, and at home in her sunny southern California garden. Glynnis loves transporting readers to a place where the bold heroes have endearing flaws, the women are stronger than they look, the land is lush and untamed, and chivalry is far from dead!

Well written and just so much fun. What a movie this story would make. Many twists and turns plus valuable lessons to learn.

At first the language was a bit hard to understand but the more you read, the more it just clicks in your brain. I really enjoyed the sisterhood dynamic, it was intriguing and hilarious. Absolutely loved how the men would get so frustrated with the girls, their reactions were priceless!!
  • Very fast paced

Story moves at a fast pace and doesn’t get bogged down with a lot of boring details.

I couldn’t finish. It probably got great but I don’t like books where the main characters are so horrid. I prefer strong sweet women instead of nasty ones. Hard to continue with the way the sisters were.

Very well written. Pulled me into the story and kept me there. It is action packed and steamy.

I was riveted all the way to the end (barely put the book down). Pagan & Deidre’s characters, and story was well written. The author did leave obvious clues as to the next book and the characters (Helena & Colin). I’m more eager to learn about Miriel’s future husband and if anyone will figure out that Sung Li is “The Shadow” and have been secretly teaching Miriel to fight. Great book and I do like this author’s work so far.

I really liked this book, despite some of the lesser reviews(if you don’t like the language of the times, don’t read it, try expanding your dialect) Glynis’s Campbell has become of of my favorite historical romance authors and this book is just more reason why. The way she transcends the story and really creates characters that are relatable, it’s just amazing! Great read! Always excited to follow up with the next book.

This is the second time I read this book, but it was real good. I started on my iPad about 2013. I have followed Ancestry and found Scottish. English and Irish on my list. I am way back some of my ancestors lived this life.

After I got a few chapters in I couldn’t put this book down. I was hoping it would be mildly entertaining. It was exciting, the story line unique, and the sexual tension was top notch. It could have been richer with a little more detail. But it really lacks nothing. I’m sure I’ll be re-reading this one.
