This work details the time that Frank Hamilton Cushing, the American anthropologist and ethnologist, spent living amongst the Zuni of Arizona. Cushing spearheaded the anthropological practice of being a participant observer, studying the Zuni by living amongst them, which he did from 1879–1884.
