Description

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Lizzy and Diesel are back in a wicked adventure from Janet Evanovich and Emmy Award–winning co-author Phoef Sutton.

Before he was murdered and mummified nearly a century ago, notorious bootlegger Collier “Peg Leg” Dazzle discovered and re-hid a famous pirate’s treasure somewhere along the coast of New England. A vast collection of gold and silver coins and precious gems, the bounty also contains the Stone of Avarice—the very item reluctant treasure seeker Lizzy Tucker and her partner, Diesel, have been enlisted to find. While Lizzy would just like to live a quiet, semi-normal life, Diesel is all about the hunt. And this hunt is going to require a genuine treasure map and a ship worthy of sailing the seven seas . . . or at least getting them from Salem Harbor to Maine.

Greed is eternal and insatiable, and Lizzy and Diesel aren’t the only ones searching for the lost pirate’s chest. People who have dedicated their entire lives to finding it are willing to commit murder or make a deal with the devil just to hold the fortune in their hands. One of those people may even be Wulf, Diesel’s deceptively charming and enigmatic cousin. Wulf desires the Stone of Avarice. He also desires Lizzy. It’s hard to say how far he’s willing to go to gain either one.

Wicked Charms is a swashbuckling adventure full of raiders, monkeys, minions, and mayhem. Lizzy and Diesel are going to have to do everything they can to keep their heads above water and hope they’re living a charmed life.

I like my humor dry and with a twist, and this book doesn’t disappoint. The whole plot is a reach, but it’s so much fun you gladly go along for the ride. Suspend your logic and belief, just enjoy!

I have been a fan for years. I have read all of the plum series, and the other Lizzy and Diesel books. I didn't see much of a difference in the style of writing like I've read in the other comments. I thought it was witty, laugh out loud hilarious, and had the perfect addition of sexual tension just like all of the other books. I enjoyed it! Can't wait for the next one!

The ending indicated the story was not concluded. As intrigued as I was at this, it detracted from the ending of the book. I guess I'll just have to wait for the next one to be released. I do love these characters.

Not nearly as good as the Plum novels. I wouldn't buy any more with this group of characters, and a clearly inferior "co"-author.
  • The best Wicked book yet!

I am a huge Stephanie Plum fan and I was hesitant to read the Lizzie & Diesel books initially. I am so glad that I took the chance because I love them! I read all three in the series in a matter of days. This book was my favorite so far. Janet has a light hearted and captivating writing style. I found myself laughing out loud many times! I love the pirate tidbits and the incorporation of the mystery that is Salem. I can't wait until the next book! The chemistry between diesel and Lizzie is heating up, I love it! Great book, my favorite author! I have all of her books in paper or in iBooks !

The only reason I gave this book one star is because it would not allow me to give a zero. I have probably read worse books in my life, but, honestly, I cannot remember when. The prose would have to be greatly improved to be sophomoric. The plot, if you can call it that, is ridiculous. I believe the author had to have been on a deadline to avoid forfeiture on a book deal and slapped words together as I did in high school when required to write a 500 word essay. It mattered not the content, only that I amassed 500 words. I think this book would have failed even my low standards, even if it had 500 words. Anyone who purchased this book should be given five tinpmes their money back
