Book Description

I can’t stand being around mopers, misery mongers, complainers, bigots, loud-mouth braggarts and the like. And once I do a job for you—don’t come back. I don’t ever want to see you again. Once a job is done—it’s over. I forget you ever existed (unless you owe me money). It may sound cold (and maybe it is), so be it. I don’t like going over the same b******t twice.

Low-rent LA gumshoe Felix “Choo-Choo” Buschitski is having a bad day as he waits in Winchell’s in West Hollywood for a client to show up. The African American man in a purple suit wants Choo-Choo to find his lost sister. He hands him a photo. No other details. With just this to go on, Choo-Choo goes to his usual haunts to find out what he can, all the while ruminating about his nonexistent sex life and dodging his horny female clients. “Bone” is Kirk Alex’s intense, brooding yet ultimately mellow tale of another case satisfactorily solved amid gritty LA street scenes of hookers, pimps, johns and bums.
