Description

A STUNNING  NEW NOVEL FROM ONE OF THE BEST-SELLING AUTHORS OF ALL TIME!

The #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER!

Set in a small-town North Carolina amusement park in 1973, Joyland tells the story of the summer in which college student Devin Jones comes to work as a carny and confronts the legacy of a vicious murder, the fate of a dying child, and the ways both will change his life forever.

"I love crime, I love mysteries, and I love ghosts. That combo made Hard Case Crime the perfect venue for this book, which is one of my favorites. I also loved the paperbacks I grew up with as a kid, and for that reason, we’re going to hold off on e-publishing this one for the time being. Joyland will be coming out in paperback, and folks who want to read it will have to buy the actual book." –Stephen King

Been reading King for the last 34 years; even though I seldom don’t enjoy one or two books, there’s always one that makes me fall for the next couple years! This is one of them, easy to read, not made long on purpose, recommended 100%.

It’s a great story a different style fun and silky in places. Sad and lonely in others. Another great King to add to library. I have a lot

One of my all time favorites of SK’s. The main character is so highly developed and likable, yet normal. Spooky, not scary, with enough supernatural thrown in to make it fun. Couldn’t put it down.
  • Cannot recommend, not King’s best work.

It started ok then it just became lazy. Probably my least favorite Stephen King book I’ve read to be quite honest. I was planning on reading another King book but now I think I’ll go back to non-fiction to get the bad taste in my mouth. Good grief.

If you don’t shed a tear with the reading of this novella, then I feel sorry for you. I had a hard time putting it down and sorry that it ended. Maybe a movie can bring this to life. Of course I am an avid King reader and will continue to be.

Being handicapped doesn’t stop life but makes each moment more precious. Life will go on but memories last and last.
