Alberto Espinoza's son is the head of the Marxist organization that kidnapped a powerful union leader. Espinoza, a retired colonel of the Ecuadorian army brings the information to Captain Ernesto Guillén of the Policía Nacional, with a proposal. He will reveal the kidnapped leader's location if Guillén promises to arrest his son without harming him. Espinoza wants his son to face the consequences of his actions, but when the chips are down the colonel has second thoughts.
