Description

Taking on a summer job as a nanny on an isolated island estate should seem like paradise—but Lily Harris is about to discover that nearly every person on this island harbors deadly secrets.

Strapped for cash, Lily agrees to nanny three children of the wealthy Caldwell family. She finds the kids odd but charming, and sparks fly instantly between her and their summer tutor Julian.

But unnerving experiences lead Lily to believe there is more to the Caldwell’s island than meets the eye. Is her traumatic past and unresolved guilt making her overly protective of those she cares for?

Or is it something more sinister?

Lily will have to find out quickly, as hurricane season approaches and her last chance to escape becomes impossible….

However it was filled with gramatical errors and misspellings that, for me, took away from the story. I also hoped that it had been more similar to Henry James’ “The Turn of the Screw” which would have made the psychological tension pop more.
  • Errors ruined it for me!

So many mistakes, including wrong names, spelling, usage, missing words, etc., pulled me out of the story too many times. Twice I had to reread sections to see whether I had missed something in the narrative. Nope! Wrong names used in places, including one that didn’t correspond to anything in the story. I’m giving it two stars rather than one because the tale was powerful and despite the errors, held my interest to the end. Author, please review your work or hire an editor!

This story was just too dramatic and unbelievable. It is poorly written; full of typos and over use of descriptions to create drama. I found myself skimming over the blah blah blah rhetoric. Don’t waste your time.

Storyline is ok but the editing mistakes are horrendous. Even names are changed throughout. Here for hear. Seen for see. And so much more. It’s extremely annoying. I stopped reading midway to write this review so others don’t waste their money! Apple Books please do something about this! And now no nicknames are accepted!!!!

I had to stop reading at chapter 6. I feel like an AI made this book.she hates this mansion and all his mysteries just because she found a random short letter, it makes no sense.
  • Pretty good storyline

There are so many typos that is it distracting. It seems like no one edited this book. Story is good but overly descriptive, almost forced like trying too hard to write well.
