Description

They lie on the hillside, wearing matching white dresses, tiaras in their blonde hair. Each of them clutches a red rose. They could be sleeping, but frost shines on the lashes of their wide blue eyes, frozen open forever…

On a green hill outside Canterbury, where a crown has been cut into the chalk, two girls are lying dead, left for Detective Lexi Bennett to find them on her morning run.

The victims are quickly identified as sisters Lucy and Eden Carter. But they are triplets… and the third sister, Paige, is still missing.

The news makes Lexi’s blood run cold. She was a triplet too. And years ago, she and her sisters were abducted. Two of them escaped. One was lost forever.

Has the man who took her returned to send her a message? Will she be able to use her past to find answers? Or is she walking into a trap designed just for her…

A completely compelling serial killer thriller that will make your pulse race on every page. Fans of Karin Slaughter, Angela Marsons and J M Dalgliesh will love The Girls on Chalk Hill

Finished in 2 days and honestly could’ve been one if I had started earlier. Oh my gosh this was so good and when I tell you I hadn’t figured it out until Lexi had figured it out (impressive because I’m an avid reader mainly in thrillers like this and was thoroughly lost). I think the author crafted this beautifully and the other point of view had me confused because I thought it was more than one person at one point. This was great and a great book to start a series with…one which I plan to continue.

Two sets of triplets seemed a bit contrived but otherwise excellent. Kept my interest to the last page.

The story line was rather boring to me after having completed a 20-book series from another British author. If this had been a first in series book I would not be reading the next book.

    1. The Mc, Lexi, chose to go looking for Paige alone, even though she could take Tom with her. She had to become a hero, alone. The reckless behavior found in many such novels. Irritating! 2. UK police do not have guns? What the government want them to do? Fight with sticks? 3. Some unresolved things will leave you unsatisfied.

You will feel for Lexi and the girl she races to save. The story is very moving and you’ll become as anxious as Lexi to rescue Paige
