Description

My name is Jean Moreau. My place is at Evermore. I belong to the Moriyamas.

It is a truth Jean has built his life around, a reminder this is the best he can hope for and all he deserves. But when he is stolen from Edgar Allan University and sold to a more dangerous master, Jean is forced to contend with a life outside of the Nest for the first time in five years. The Foxes call his transfer to California a fresh start; Jean knows it is little more than a golden cage.

Captain Jeremy Knox is facing his final year with the USC Trojans and fifth straight year falling short of the championships trophy he desperately craves. Taking in the nation's best defenseman is a no-brainer, even if that man is a Raven. But Jean is no monster, just a man with no hope or desire for a future, and when Evermore's collapse starts dragging Jean's hideous secrets to light, Jeremy is forced to contend with the cost of victory.

Wow. I wanted so much more from this book. Iā€™d take ten more of these if sheā€™s willing to write them. But I wanted the same for Jean as what Neil got in the end. Either way, you should read this book.

Genuinely donā€™t know what Nora puts in these books for them to be so all-consuming. 10/10 great read. The trauma and grief in this book will stay with me forever I fear. Someone give Jean a hug.

If Riko Moriyama has zero haters Iā€™m dead. Jeanā€™s dialogue with the Trojans is the funniest thing Iā€™ve read since the one banquet scene where Andrew calls him Jean Valjean. Absolutely amazing I canā€™t wait for the next one

I did not care much about Jean Moreau before this book. I am now heavily invested in his healing and wellbeing.

Was almost sobbing after only the first chapter. Itā€™s so good to get some of our old favorites back (even at a distance), and to get new favorites in characters weā€™ve only been able to guess at. Getting Jeanā€™s point of view from previous events in the original trilogy broke me but was really great at the same time. Seeing this little french boy trying to heal and rewrite his brain washing is fantastic in the most heartbreaking of ways, and Iā€™m glad heā€™s able to finally has a good support system (even if theyā€™re also figuring it all out as they go). Cannot wait to, hopefully, get more books to continue this journey with these new main four characters who are so dear to me. Great spin off Nora.
  • Itā€™s a demolition. Itā€™s a reclamation. And itā€™s beautiful.

Nora said TSC is ā€œa love story about a boy who couldn't be his own person, learning how to breathe without permission and live without it hurting.ā€ And, having had the honor of reading it early, I can attest that it is all she promised and more. But I also believe itā€™s a story about rebirth. About what happens when youā€™re at the end of a tightrope that you didnā€™t tie, and finding ground where there wasnā€™t any before. About finding so much hope in those around you that it simmers underneath your own skin. Itā€™s a demolition. Itā€™s a reclamation. And itā€™s beautiful. I cannot wait for you all to read it. Youā€™re not ready. And itā€™s exactly what we all need.

Jean always grabbed my attention as a character. I could never get over the tragedy of his story and worse, I couldnā€™t stop hoping for him to have a kinder future. I hope Nora knows how grateful I am that she shared this story with us. Thank you for braving the internet and its rabid netizens to gift us nice things. šŸ„¹ I have already read it twice. I am desperate for more and cannot wait for TSC2.
