After nearly eighteen months at Basgiath War College, Violet Sorrengail knows there’s no more time for lessons. No more time for uncertainty.

Because the battle has truly begun, and with enemies closing in from outside their walls and within their ranks, it’s impossible to know who to trust.

Now Violet must journey beyond the failing Aretian wards to seek allies from unfamiliar lands to stand with Navarre. The trip will test every bit of her wit, luck, and strength, but she will do anything to save what she loves—her dragons, her family, her home, and him.

Even if it means keeping a secret so big, it could destroy everything.

They need an army. They need power. They need magic. And they need the one thing only Violet can find—the truth.

But a storm is coming...and not everyone can survive its wrath.

The Empyrean series is best enjoyed in order.

Once again, this series of books doesn’t disappoint! Couldn’t put it down and was devastated when it came to the end. However, the way it did end gave me hope room that there will another one coming soon!

this is my favorite book out of the series!! it was exciting and kept you anticipating the next move. I had SEVERAL gasp worthy moments while reading and maybe even shed a tear. The growth of all of the characters was phenomenal! I LOVE Ridoc and I guess Dain isn't so bad 🙄 I loved seeing all of the dragons and different signets develop! We learn more about the world Yarros built and see Violet and her quest squad meet different people and explore new areas. Yarros does an amazing job with dropping hints, foreshadowing, and connecting pieces of the puzzle! I figured out some of the hints before it was explicitly said! You also learn about violets second signet (but I think there's more to it...) warning: ends on a clifthanger with more questions than answers. sooo not looking forward to waiting years for book 4.... 🚨SPOILER ALERT🚨 Trager’s death broke my heart even though we didn’t know much about him besides him being a medic. I was heartbroken for Cat. Theophanie holding Mira captive and slitting her throat was INSANE! The ENDING?!!!!! what the helll was that?!!!!

these cliff hanger are going to be the death of me. i don’t want to give too much away, so i’ll keep it short and simple. if you compare the three books i can say the writing itself was definitely better. the amount of stress violet goes through i’m surprised she doesn’t have constant panic attack. i’m excited about more lore from this book, and how this world works. i loved the different perspectives at the end. this book is a must recommend. so get to reading

This book was kind of disappointing after the first two, and I loved those. This one felt as if it could have easily been a part of the last. So, it pretty much is a filler book. I’m sure information from this will be needed for the next. It’s disappointing though. The storyline felt choppy almost.

This book stays true to the series in that it keeps you on your toes throughout. You’re rooting for love to win over evil and wondering what is going to happen to our favorite couple throughout. And as always Yarros finishes with a cliff hanger that BEGS you to pick up the next book instantly. (Patiently/not so patiently awaiting the next installment to see what happens next).
