Description

Tasha Taggart isn’t a spy. That’s her sisters’ job. Tasha’s support role is all about keeping them alive, playing referee when they fight amongst themselves, and soothing the toughest boss in the world. Working for the CIA isn’t as glamorous as she imagined, and she’s more than a little lonely. So when she meets a charming man in a bar the night before they start their latest op, she decides to give in to temptation. The night was perfect until she discovers she’s just slept with the target of their new investigation. Her sisters will never let her hear the end of this. Even worse, she has to explain the situation to her overprotective father, who also happens to be their boss.

Dare Nash knew exactly how his week in Sydney was going to go—attending boring conferences to represent his family’s business interests and eating hotel food alone. Until he falls under the spell of a stunning and mysterious American woman. Something in Tasha’s eyes raises his body temperature every time she looks at him. She’s captivating, and he’s committed to spending every minute he can with her on this trip, even if her two friends seem awfully intense. He doesn’t trust easily, but it’s not long before he can imagine spending the rest of his life with her.

When Dare discovers Tash isn’t who she seems, the dream turns into a nightmare. She isn’t the only one who deceived him, and now he’s in the crosshairs of adversaries way out of his league. He can’t trust her, but it might take Tasha and her family to save his life and uncover the truth.

I absolutely loved this book! Like Lexi herself said, I thought it might feel weird to read about the kids all grown up, but it is so seamlessly perfect! I have already preordered the next in the series. I can’t get enough of the Masters and Mercenaries world. Well done!!

Well it’s so much fun to read another episode of the Tagart-Mc Kay group. I love this world and all these characters. Lexi Blake set the stage for this universe years ago and it just keeps getting better. Dare and Tasha are such a wonderful couple and the trials and tribulations that they overcame were awesome. I didn’t want to put the book down. I can’t wait for the next installment. Hope March gets here soon!

Love The Way You Spy is book 1 in the Masters & Mercenaries: New Recruits by Lexi Blake and what a great start to a new series! The next generation of spies and starting with Ian and Charlie Taggart’s daughter, Tasha and Dare Nash. What starts as a one night stand before a new op ends up with finding he’s the target. What happens next is…anger, betrayal, family dynamics, team interaction, some laughter, steamy, intrigue and more… I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy (ARC) of this book from Valentine PR. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
  • Will he give her a chance at love?

Love the Way You Spy is the first book set within the Masters and Mercenaries: New Recruits series. Tasha is about to start a mission, so as a way to relieve some stress, she finds a man for a night. Unfortunately, her one night stand quickly turns into the target for her assignment and now Tasha has to go undercover, all while trying not to give her heart to Dare. When the truth comes out, will Dare give her a chance, or will the danger surrounding them just be too much for both to handle? Oh wow, this was a really fun and fantastic read! I loved that this book was equally focused on the relationship and drama that develops between Tasha and Dare and also focused on all of the events and drama happening on the mission! I was captivated by both! Tasha is confident and successful at her job, but has definitely been burned by love before and so I enjoyed watching her open up and struggle between her job responsibilities and her heart. Date was trusting, wanting so badly to break free from the restraints of his father, all while deeply guarding his own heart. I really enjoyed his character! I loved the two of them together, so full of steam, but their connection was true and solid. I have to admit that this is the first book I’ve read from Ms. Blake in a long while, especially from this series, so I know I’ve missed several of the Easter eggs and backstories, but I still really enjoyed this book and it definitely made me want to read more!
  • Delightful, sexy, funny, emotional, and chaotic

Love the Way You Spy is the first book in the Masters & Mercenaries: New Recruits series and 27th in the Masters and Mercenaries series. This was my first book in the Masters & Mercenaries series and I am now hooked. This book is an erotic romantic suspense novel about an extended family of spies who are also active in the BDSM world. Tasha met Dare at a pub the night before a mission would start only to find out the next day that the target of their mission had been killed. The new target turned out to Dare, and despite not being a field operative, Tasha was the best candidate to engage him. Unfortunately,Tasha could only think about how much she wanted to spend more time with Dare. This book was sexy, funny, emotional and chaotic. The cast of characters that makes up this world were a real hoot! Despite all the chaos this group of characters contributed, the book was so well written it was easy to keep track of exactly what was happening and who was involved with every character wrinkle. I am looking forward to going back and reading the series from the beginning as well as anticipating the next book to come. This book would be enjoyable for readers who like this genre, including BDSM relationships as discussion of the lifestyle is constant and interwoven around the action at any given time. It was a delightful read and I’d love to read a dozen more like it. I am voluntarily submitting this review after reading an advanced complementary copy of this book thanks to Valentine PR and DLZ Entertainment, LLC.
  • M&M, the Next Generation!

After watching the Taggart/McKay/Dean-Miles/Ward kids grow up as part of their parents’ stories, I wondered if it would be weird reading about their own adult lives. It definitely was…weirdly wonderful, funny, touching and a bit heartbreaking (Tristan!) Tasha is Big Tag’s oldest…smart, protective of her siblings, cousins and friends both on the job as well as personally. I loved how those roles overlapped constantly. This team was all up in each others business and it generated more than a few laughs from this reader. It was often very reminiscent of their parents, with a smidge less stabbiness, lol! Dare Nash is in quite a different situation. While he works for his dad, there’s no trust or love there. His siblings are younger and not close to him and friends seem to be few and far between. I wanted to give the man a hug more than once. But he’s hiding a dominant side that speaks to the submissive side of Tasha. Honestly, I was exhausted after reading this book, because I was up WAY past my usual bedtime…I could not put it down. There’s the intrigue, mystery and squabbling fans will embrace and new readers are bound to love as well. Tasha and Dare were the perfect first couple to have their story told. March 2024 just seems way too far away to wait for (redacted) story!
  • Mission impossible mixed with romance

The only thing I didn’t like about this book is that we have to wait until March of 2024 for the next one. A fantastic story- think Mission Impossible with love, dom stuff and so many laughs (love the Taggerts and the extended clan!), this story had it all. And it was different in that Tasha was the operative while Dare is the damsel in distress. But this was so well done that they felt like partners in a well coordinated play that set up so many of the next gen’s stories. And so excited am I to read about their HEAs even though I read the first generation’s stories. I loved the foreword that Lexi Blake wrote to discuss some of her concerns about writing about the next gen when she went so deep with their parents. This was a job well done. A great intro to the book and this book is a fantastic entry into the series. Can’t wait till the next one!
