Description

‘What can I say, I loved this book. It has all my favorite tropes. Fake dating – check! Grumpy/ sunshine (reversed) check! One bed – check!’ Reader review

When you can’t find the perfect date for the holidays you hire him!

Hotshot lawyer Rebecca Madison is dreading the annual family Thanksgiving break where the question on everyone’s lips will be ‘why are you still single?’.

When it comes to her career, she’s the best of the best, hired for her take-no-prisoners approach and sharp instincts. But when it comes to her love life…well, she hasn’t found the loophole for happy ever after yet.

So when she has a one night stand with a gorgeous stranger she meets in a bar, Becca decides to do what she does best: make a deal with Mr One Night to be her Mr Right (just for the holidays).

With an iron-clad contract setting out the terms for their fake relationship, Becca has one important point. Clause 1.a. No kissing, no sex (as mind-blowing as it was), and absolutely no emotional attachment!

But five thousand miles from home and spending every waking moment in the company of a man who makes her feel things she’s never felt before, just how easy will it be for Becca to stick to her own rules…

About the author

Cassie Connor loves capsule wardrobes, packs light, enjoys weekending in Nice and takes her own champagne flute wherever she goes. She’s also got a history degree and has never finished War and Peace. When it comes to dating, her motto is CBA – Can’t Be Arsed – and has resorted to writing and inventing her own men because fictional heroes are always so much better. Hudson in her debut novel, Under Contract, proves the point perfectly.

This book had a great plot, the ending was a little slow but eventually had a good pace. Definitely recommend!😁

Well-written and sweet. Sometimes the main character is so stubborn she’s unlikeable and hard to root for. But Rebecca was earnest and her behavior made sense given her upbringing.

So romantic, tear jerker, sometimes you don’t really know what you want and love changes everything. Love that she came to her senses before it was tooo late

3.5-4 Stars!! This is a fake dating, rom-com, opposites attract with plenty of detailed ‘sexy times’. Rebecca/Becca is a big shot lawyer and for all that, she’s kinda dumb with emotions and relationships. She annoyed me so much! One minute she’s lovey dovey and the next she’s cold and stand-offish. The main male character, Hudson, has the patience of a saint. He’s the type that makes friends everywhere he goes. Easy going, talkative and friendly. Basically the opposite of the main female character. I did enjoy the book but it left a few questions that were never answered and it got me frustrated after Rebecca kept ignoring her feelings and pushing everyone away over and over and over again. Entertaining read I just wish Rebecca wasn’t such a stuck up ‘female dog’ most of the time. Hudson could do better/nicer. *I received this at no charge & I voluntarily left this review.*
