Edward McKendree Bounds (1835-1913), a native of Missouri, was a clergyman of the Methodist Episcopal Church South. Bounds worked throughout the South and even for the Confederate armies during the Civil War. Many of his eleven books focused on prayer, including Prayer and Praying Men.
