Description

When she becomes a murder suspect, a New Orleans beauty and lingerie tycoon must share her most deeply buried secrets with a disturbingly handsome district attorney in order to clear her name.

Like the city of New Orleans itself, Claire Laurent is a vibrant beauty laced with mystery. As the founder of French Silk, a fabulous lingerie company, she has fought hard to achieve worldwide success. Then a TV evangelist attacks French Silk's erotic sleepwear as sinful. And when he is killed, Claire becomes the prime suspect.

District Attorney Robert Cassidy knows Claire is damning herself with lie after lie about the murder, even as he feels her drawing him into her world and her very soul. But neither Cassidy nor her protests of innocence can save Claire unless she reveals a shocking truth -- one she has sworn to take to the grave . . .

Be wary of Sandra Brown books, evidently someone in her organization is listing old books, this one was first published in May 1992, as new because they are now in e-book format. A disgrace for such a good author.

Was disappointed. The characters were difficult to connect with; they weren't sympathetic or very likable. After awhile, I just wanted the main character, Claire, to get a grip on reality- her behavior/attitude was annoying & I just stopped caring about what happened to her. And I am not a prude, but this book borders on being pornographic. The descriptive love scenes were so overdone that it seemed like the author was trying her hand at writing smut. Her use of 'dirty' words to describe those love scenes came out sounding like a teenage boy who had just learned these words and had to try them all out. They were so poorly written, it was offensive. This book was like a cheap dime store novel. And to make matters worse, the storyline was thin and uninteresting.

I have to admit that I thought I had figured out who the killer was. But was completely surprised to find out at the end of the book that I was wrong. Ms Brown does a great job ensuring that you keep turning the page.

This is an awesome read!!!!! I'm usually pretty good at figuring out who did it but I didn't know until Ms. brown actually revealed it. Not often do I get caught like this.

It's a rather ridiculous love story where a DA gets to ask questions he would never get to ask in real life and aren't even relevant to the case. If you like sex scenes then buy it, otherwise move on!
