John Kerr has been playing Irish traditional music in the Washington DC area for almost a quarter century. He grew up there but did not discover the music or his Irish heritage until he was an adult. Along the way he was one of the organizers of the critically acclaimed Washington Irish Folk Festival and an early participant in the revival of Irish country set dancing on the east coast of America. Memories and ruminations on all that make up Two Old Black Sticks, his first book.
