    While it was refreshing to read about something other than the Baxter family in Bloomington, this book was not all I hoped it would be. The message was loud and clear (and reiterated way too many times) - being famous is a “prison cell,” and you should be content to live a life away from the public spotlight. It was ultimately disappointing and frustrating to read about a character who “loves God more than his next breath,” and yet still fell into every trap and pitfall that fame threw his way. The multiple subplots and perspectives from several characters further weakened the plot to the point of eye-rolling predictability. The end of the book was a huge letdown, as nothing was resolved and the consequences of the main character’s decisions were never fully addressed.

    Love Karen Kingsbury books. I felt like this story was a little different then her other novels. I didn't really like the way it leaves you hanging at end. I'm hoping for another book to continue the story. I didn't hate it, but not my favorite.

    I'll forever be a Karen Kingsbury fan, but this isn't her best book. Perhaps her worst.
