Description

Book 1 in the 3-book historical Christian fiction series by the New York Times bestselling author of Redeeming Love and The Masterpiece.

The first book in the beloved Mark of the Lion series, A Voice in the Wind brings readers back to the first century Roman empire and introduces them to a character they will never forget―Hadassah.

While wealthy Roman citizens indulge their every whim, Jews and barbarians are bought and sold as slaves and gladiators in the bloodthirsty arena. Amid the depravity around her, a young Jewish slave girl becomes a light in the darkness. Even as she’s torn by her love for a handsome aristocrat, Hadassah clings to her faith in the living God for deliverance from the forces of a decadent empire.

A Voice in the Wind is perfect for fans of:

• Christian romance
• Biblical and historical fiction
• Themes of grace, love, and standing firm in your faith

“Francine unlocks the longing in each one of us to connect to God in a deeper, life-changing way. No one reading her books will ever be the same again.”
Debbie Macomber

“As we ‘watch’ Hadassah and Atretes struggle through first-century trials, we learn how to handle similar situations in the twenty-first century. The ‘costumes’ may vary, but our Lord does not change.”
Angela Hunt

“Francine redefined Christian fiction―honest, unflinching, powerful, life-changing―demonstrating why storytelling is the most effective way to communicate God’s truth. Every Christian novelist writing today owes a debt of gratitude to Francine Rivers for lighting the way.”

I absolutely ADORE these books! I’m on the last book, (who’s name I can’t remember) and even at my young age, I feel like if someone came at me saying Jesus wasn’t real, that I could correct them and show them the truth. Haddassah is what I want to be like. She is an amazing character who I feel like I could pour my heart into. I wish it wasn’t a trilogy and was an entire series!! Also, do I recommend this book for 13+? Yes I do. One of my mom’s friends was concerned for me reading this, but honestly, look at their ages! Julia was considered an adult at 14!!! One year older than me! And Haddassah? 15 when she became a slave. These are things that happened to girls MY AGE!! And do I recommend it for 13-? No I do not. There are some things in there that would scar your child. Including the way abortions were preformed in ancient Roman times. Look up at your own risk!!⚠️🚨⚠️🚨⚠️ But do not let what o said stop you! When you read the first, you will need the rest. You will grow attached to theses characters and even cry at deaths of them. Miss Rivers did a fantastic job. It’s a must read. Hadassah is like a best friend. She has inspired me to grow and be closer to God. I was kind of low a few weeks ago and God told me to read about Hadassah again. She helped me over my hump. Thank you Ms. Rivers.
