VARNEY, THE VAMPYRE OR THE FEAST OF BLOOD:
Thomas Pecket Prest, also known as Thomas Preskett Prest, was a British writer, journalist and musician in the early 1800s. He is known for producing an enormous number of penny dreadful serials, and creating the fictional character of Sweeney Todd. He is thought to be the author of Varney the Vampire, although some think the work was written by J.M. Ryder. Prest himself wrote under several pen names, including Bos, and wrote several novels satirizing Charles Dickens, otherwise known as Boz.
