Description

The sign on the tree attracted the man's attention while he was still far down the slope. He could see the tall pine on the crest of the ridge above a veritable landmark in that country of stunted timber, and the square of paper, tacked to its trunk under the lowest branches, gleamed white against the background of vivid green.

James Roberts writes a good story. His lead character, Roger Rathburn alias Coyote, is a good blend of credible and legendary. Roberts succeeds in creating an unusual plot where the hero in the story is neither all bad nor all good; yet his noble side shines through as the predominant guiding factor in his life. The story is refreshing in that it is rare to find a novel today that is not peppered with foul language and explicit descriptions of sex. Roberts has kept his story free of both. Well done Sir. I will definitely be looking for more of your novels. Thank you.

Magnificent western tale. Likable hero, very good story, plot, twists ad turns of fortune. Most satisfying Western I have read in along time.
