Great beginning and the characters were well written. The story was very interesting in the beginning but quickly started to be rushed along. This author has the ability to write but seems to have lost interest in it towards the end.

  • A Fairy Tale Romance

Scottish Laird Cameron Leslie is a dream come true for Clarice, an English commoner. She catches his eye and, oh my, the race is on to make her fall in love with him before he has to return to Scotland. He does and says all the right things that would make any woman capitulate. A sweet love story that will make you go "M-m-m." But I forgot it was a novella. When their first steamy love scene ended, so did the story. I wanted more. Lauren Royal wrote the most romantic dialogue I've read in a long time, and I read a lot. Thanks, Ms. Royal. You did it again!

Fairy tales can be modern or historical. If the author is going to write historicals, then more research into the period is required. Three sets of obstacles for the characters to overcome in a novella is a lot! Yet the plot is too simple and the language to cutesy and simplistic. Sorry, this novella didn't work for me.
