“Koontz gives [Odd Thomas] wit, good humor, a familiarity with the dark side of humanity—and moral outrage.”—USA Today

Once presided over by a Roaring ’20s Hollywood mogul, the magnificent West Coast estate known as Roseland now harbors a reclusive billionaire financier and his faithful servants—and their guests: Odd Thomas, the young fry cook who sees the dead and tries to help them, and Annamaria, his inscrutably charming traveling companion. Fresh from a harrowing clash with lethal adversaries, they welcome their host’s hospitality. But Odd’s extraordinary eye for the uncanny detects disturbing secrets that could make Roseland more hell than haven.

Soon enough the house serves up a taste of its terrors, as Odd begins to unravel the darkest mystery of his curious career. What consequences await those who confront evil at its most profound? Odd only knows.

This book left me always wondering what was happening, what was going to happen, and how was he going to get out of the fix he was in. Always on the edge of seat.

I have read and enjoyed every book Dean K has written. This one is such a powerhouse of an emotional roller coaster for the enduring Odd Thomas. I love this character so much. I can't wait to know what happens with Annmarie and to find out who she is!!!

Disappointing! Never thought I'd say that about a Dean Koontz novel. Too much detail about the mansion and the strange, complex machinery in it and too little happening in the story. The story itself seemed too contrived and far out. A high price paid for a poor read. Wish I had my $ back!
  • Love this series!

Dean koontz never disappoints! I've been reading his books since 1986 and his writing is as visual as ever! I always remember his characters as if I've watched the movie( kind of confusing) and I love that he loves his dogs!!

Great story! Each new story brings in new ideas and incredible things with which Odd Thomas must deal, but the central ethos remains pure. I highly recommend this series.
