I have to start off by saying I loved this book way better then the first book. Lola is a young girl who is seventeen years old. Being raised by two gay men and they are very good parents to Lola. Considering Lola birth mother and father. Lola is dating and a older man named Max (side note I didn't like him at all. When Lola notices old neighbors who moved back in to their old home next door. Lola starts to remember those old feelings for Cricket and I really liked Cricket he seem very sorry and caring and wanted to please everyone. But now that he has come back drama has happens between her and Max and she doesn't know how to deal with all these feelings. I really enjoyed Anna and St. Clair their love and friendship and how they help Lola and be there for her. Sometimes I wanted to tell Lola to stop and realize and calm down at times. Again I enjoyed this story can't wait for the third book.

Much like this entire series, Lola and the Boy Next Door is an easy, cute read with likable characters and a sweet storyline without any real lulls. It’s the kind of book you can accidentally read in a day and wonder where the heck the time went. Lola’s pants are on fire for 90% of this book and, at first, I didn’t know what to think about it. While I found myself asking, “WHY ARE YOU LYING???” constantly, it didn’t bother me as much as I thought it would. I think it is because I have a soft spot for quirky characters and Lola’s unique style was endearing. Just like Anna and the French Kiss, I really enjoyed all of the main characters in this novel. I think, if I had to choose favorite characters (aside from Lola, of course) it would be Andy and Nathan, her dads. PS – I love that she has two fathers. They are beautifully flawed, but still manage to be great parents. Though the love story is a little stereotypical (the ‘boy next door’ part of the title is accurate in many ways), it was still very sweet. Initially, I was torn about Cricket’s character. It was obvious that he was in love with Lola from the beginning and I kind of was hoping she’d have to work for him a bit more, but it all ended up making sense in the end. Because, though she had his affection from the beginning, she still had to work to deserve it. The appearance of Etienne and Anna was an extra little nugget of greatness. I’d almost forgotten how much I love Etienne! It almost makes me want to reread Anna and the French Kiss! I’m excited about next book, Isla and the Happily Ever After. I’ve loved Isla since Anna and the French Kiss! Audiobook Performance Each of these books in the series has a different reader, and I’m not sure how I feel about it. I enjoyed this audiobook reader. She wasn’t my favorite, but she wasn’t distracting in any way. She did a great job with Etienne’s accent in the brief moments he was in the book. Accents can usually make or break an audiobook reader (as can doing opposite sex voices).

This book is #2 of the series. I was not expecting this book to be as great as Anna and the French kiss, but it is! It has such a grip on your heart. The endings of Anna and the French kiss, and this book are the best endings I've ever read in my life. So be expected to fall in love with her books

this is my 3rd time rereading LOLA and the boy next door and i was disappointed to have read that people that it was initially stupid. to me personally, I’ve read all types of book and contemporary is my least favorite category and i would have to say everything in the book is realistic, the description of the characters translated perfectly to me because the way she describes emotions is the way that literally everyone experiences it, and endings that are happy always leave me with a sense of sadness that books gives us a false sense of reality but the way her happily ever afters happen is in a way that actually makes me believe in true friendship, love and absolute devotion.
  • Amazing novel, will read it again!

When I first read Anna and the French Kiss I thought it was going to be stupid.... But was I dead wrong! Stephanie has this magic with words that makes her stories feel as if you were the character in the book. It made me hope to find myself a St. Clair<3 The way she unfolds the story and how well she developed her characters makes you believe that out there there is your very own Cricket or St. Clair waiting for you. So thank you Stephanie for giving me a new perspective on how I see relationships and myself.
