I found this book to be written in a very calming way. The topics addressed were sad and the characters responses were at times heartbreaking. But these issues only made me keep reading on to see how it all turned out. The idea that we as human beings can impacted our friends and neighbors is encouraging and makes everyone in this book reach out to the others at there time of need. I enjoyed observing the common place problems of others and watching how the character evolved through the help of family, friends, and new acquaintances. I enjoyed it very much.
  • The worst Binchy book written

What baffles me is that Oprah endorsed this book for her club. Personally when Oprah gives a recommendation , it's well worth your time and money. No drama, nothing about the characters were interesting. Don't waste your money, nothing but a bad debt, an eejet of a man and a house pretty much sums up the book. Terrible book.
