Description

In the crowded greenroom of a porn-movie production, hundreds of men mill around in their boxers, awaiting their turn with the legendary Cassie Wright. An aging adult film star, Cassie Wright intends to cap her career by breaking the world record for serial fornication by having sex with 600 men on camera—one of whom may want to kill her.

Told from the perspectives of Mr. 72, Mr. 137, Mr. 600, and Sheila, the talent wrangler who must keep it all under control, Snuff is a dark, wild, and lethally funny novel that brings the presence of pornography in contemporary life into the realm of literary fiction.

Seriously, the book should have been a 30 page short story, at most. Had to force myself through it to a miserable, anti-climatic (no pun intended) ending.

From start to finish it launches you in the insane world of the porn industry. But in true Palanuik fashion theres a lot of twist and turns in this delightfully messed up novel. Its a good read for people with a strange sense of humor.

This was an amazing story. If you have trouble with the graphic nature of Chuck's novels then I would say to try and muscle your way past those scenes because the games these stories will play with your mind are a thrill. Wonderful read by an author who never fails to "rise" to the occasion. (it makes more sense if you read the book)

Maybe that's a little harsh but this book just seemed rushed and the story just wasn't that good. I've read just about all of Palahniuk's books and I can say that this book was hard to finish, I had stay with it and there just wasn't any reward for my effort. Sorry Chuck but this one has flies hovering above it on my bookshelf. It doesn't deserve to sit next to your other books on my shelf.
