Description

Bride McTierney has had it with men. They're cheap, self-centered, and never love her for who she is. But though she prides herself on being independent, deep down she still yearns for a knight in shining armor.

She just never expected her knight in shining armor to have a shiny coat of fur...

Deadly and tortured, Vane Kattalakis isn't what he seems. Most women lament that their boyfriends are dogs. In Bride's case, hers is a wolf. A Were-Hunter wolf. Wanted dead by his enemies, Vane isn't looking for a mate. But the Fates have marked Bride as his. Now he has three weeks to either convince Bride that the supernatural is real or he will spend the rest of his life neutered--something no self-respecting wolf can accept...

But how does a wolf convince a human to trust him with her life when his enemies are out to end his? In the world of the Were-Hunters, it really is dog-eat-dog. And only one alpha male can win.

Vane is a Lykos Were-Hunter. He first sees Bride when he is guarding Sunshine in Night Embrace. When he sees her again several months later he cannot leave her when he sees she is upset. They spend one afternoon together and then he leaves with no intention of seeing her again because she is human and he is under a death sentence from his enemies. It is a short time later that he realizes she is his mate. Will he be able to keep Bride safe while defeating those who wish him harm? When I first read this book it was my favorite. I’m not sure I can choose a favorite now because I really enjoy each one. Vane does hold a special place in my heart though.

This is one of my absolute favorite books. I am biased because I 100% identify with Bride, and Vane is a dream come true for women like us. I adore the Were-Hunters, something about the baser instincts in a sexy man is irresistible. Vane is just the ideal. He’s tough but melts around Bride. He’s incredibly strong, but can speak like a poet if he’s inclined to - and at turns can be awkward as all get out since he doesn’t know much about humans. I re-read this often and just love it.

Just finished reading this book and I have already managed to convince a few of my friends to read this book. Vane is a very unique character that you just can't help but love. Bride is not your typical heroine, which is one of the reasons I love this book. Throughout the book you watch her progression from a woman full of insecurities to one kick butt animal loving woman.

A little overwhelming with the "I'm fat and uncomfortable with myself" theme but besides that, loved it!
