Description

After seven long years in the Delta Quadrant, the crew of the Starship Voyager™ now confront the strangest world of all: home. For Admiral Kathryn Janeway and her stalwart officers, Voyager's miraculous return brings new honors and responsibilities, reunions with long-lost loved ones, and for some, such as the Doctor and Seven of Nine, the challenge of forging new lives in a Federation that seems to hold little place for them.

But even as Janeway and the others go their separate ways, pursuing new adventures and opportunities, a mysterious cybernetic plague strikes Earth, transforming innocent men, women, and children into an entirely new generation of Borg. Now the entire planet faces assimilation, and Voyager may be to blame!

Story was good. This is beyond a cliffhanger. It was a scam designed by the publisher to sell two books.

I am a big fan of the Voyager TV series and reading this makes me wish they would make it a movie, but like the other reviews say it certainly ends on a cliffhanger. The description should be modified to make this evident. 5 star story with a 1 star deal. Resistance is futile, as I bought the other book anyways.

Caution, this book is only part of the story - it ends as a 'cliffhanger', apparently requiring you to buy the next book. And contrary to what Debra says, I don't see that information anywhere on the "cover" (image here on iTunes) nor in the synopsis. Funny thing is, the characterizations and story are good enough that I was thinking I'd buy another ST:V novelization - but now I'm miffed to find that I *have* to do so just to finish this initial tale. Very frustrating, and insulting - I'd have readily given this 4 stars, maybe even 5, if that weren't the case!

Don't listen to that other guy don't know how he didn't know that it was a two parter says on the title that it is! This is an amazing story for any voyager fan this is a definite read. Homecoming takes place when voyagers crew just gets to the alpha quadrant. The first 100 or so pages takes place with voyager meeting their families again and readjusting to their earth lives. That's when things pick up, we find B'elanna has a message from a Klingon named Logt about her mother. We find out that Harry's former fiancé is a spy, and that a man named Oliver Blaine's wants to start a revolution for holograms. Not to mention the xaranian flu, what is starfleet hiding and why is the voyager Crew being blamed and why have they taken 7 of 9, the doctor and icheb? Christie golden is an amazing author and these books homecoming and farther shore are well worth reading!!!!

To be completely honest, I really enjoyed the book. I love Voyager, and the author really captured the spirit of the series, and came up with a great story for what happened after they finally made it home. That being said, when I buy a book, I assume that I'm paying for the complete story, not half of it. It's one thing to have a cliff-hanger on a tv show, when you have to wait for the next episode to find out the conclusion, but when I reach the end of a book, and there's no conclusion whatsoever, I become angry. If you like Voyager, you'll enjoy this book, but understand that you'll need to pay for two books for this story, not just one.
  • Great book!
