Description

The heartwarming and unforgettable story of a family and the wondrously neurotic dog who taught them what really matters in life. Now with photos and new material.

Is it possible for humans to discover the key to happiness through a bigger-than-life, bad-boy dog? Just ask the Grogans.

John and Jenny were just beginning their life together. They were young and in love, with not a care in the world. Then they brought home Marley, a wiggly yellow furball of a puppy. Life would never be the same.

Marley grew into a barreling, ninety-seven-pound streamroller of a Labrador retriever. He crashed through screen doors, gouged through drywall, and stole women's undergarments. Obedience school did no good -- Marley was expelled.

But just as Marley joyfully refused any limits on his behavior, his love and loyalty were boundless, too. Marley remained a model of devotion, even when his family was at its wit's end. Unconditional love, they would learn, comes in many forms.

Marley & Me is John Grogan's funny, unforgettable tribute to this wonderful, wildly neurotic Lab and the meaning he brought to their lives.

I just finished this absolutely wonderful book. I am a puppy raiser for Guide Dogs of Texas, and we use primarily Labs. However, we have our own breeding program, and our Labs do not have Marley's "very special characteristics". It was such a joy to read, and it was very helpful in dealing with the loss of my first puppy in training and in preparing for the loss of of my second. I would highly recommend this book to ANYONE with a love for dogs in general but for Labs in particular. - Lori Johnston Wadsworth

What a wonderful story. Sometimes I laughed so hard that tears came to my eyes. Other times the tears just came. I am an ardent dog-lover, but I have never had one like Marley. This story almost made me wish I had. A truly wonderful story about a truly wonderful dog.

I am in the middle of this book and it is SO GOOD! Just to think that all of this actually happened is AMAZING! You should really get this book. I don't usually like reading but this book is too good to stop reading. Once you start this book you won't be able to stop. Until it's over that is. I'm not reading it off if iBooks but I thought that I should really leave a review. I can really relate to this book because my friend got a dog that was almost 4 feet tall after having him for no more then two months. He was slobbery and afraid of thunder but I have to say not as afraid as Marley. I think that everyone should read this book and that everyone can relate to this book in at least one way.

I love this book! I devoured this in less than a day and cried at the end. It's so sad but also uplifting in some ways. It makes me cherish my time with my dog, Zoey, even more. You will not regret buying and reading this book.
