Loved Charles and Anna’s story! This is a good book to read after the 1st book mercy Thompson series even though it’s a new series dealing with Charles and Anna. But other than that the world the Patricia takes you is great and you easily fall in love with the characters.
  • What a Great Short Story!

This was great, especially considering that it is a short story. I have read the all of the Mercy Thompson books, so know a bit about Charles and Anna, but I am just starting their series. It was great to learn how they met and to get much better acquainted with them. I thought they were both wonderful characters, and I enjoyed the storyline. I'm looking forward to seeing where the next books take them. Anna Latham was turned into a Werewolf against her will. She has been treated very poorly by her pack, and she is made to feel like a submissive and worthless wolf. When she reads an alarming news article that she knows connects to her pack, she contacts Bran "The Marrok" Cornick, the leader of the North American werewolves. Bran sends his son, Charles, to investigate the goings on in Anna's Chicago pack. When Charles meets Anna, he is immediately drawn to her, and knows his wolf has selected her as his mate. Charles recognizes Anna as a rare Omega wolf, not a submissive. He is appalled and angered at how she has been treated by her pack, and they begin to get to know and care for one another as they try to unravel the secrets and misdeeds of the pack. I loved this one! Charles and Anna are both great, and I really enjoyed the way this story picked up right as Moon Called ended. I loved the interaction between Charles and Anna, and I appreciated the way that Bran was so accepting of Charles' quick attachment to her. As a fan of the Mercy Thompson Series, I have been looking forward to reading the Alpha & Omega books, and after this short story, I am even more thrilled to read them.

It was perfect not too much nonsense and not too little. I love this series! If your looking for pure romance it's not here but if your looking for sweet romantic protectiveness. This is love at 1st sight but in a cute way.

I first read this forever ago as a paperback library book. I was never really able to find it priced reasonable to buy later. I was thrilled to find it again & loved it as much this time as before. Thanks
