I’ve read many of her books and liked them. This one is terrible. No plot. Assorted characters, all of whom chatter nonsense. Tedious reading. Don’t waste your time or money on this one

All the necessary bits and pieces to make a good story, but the laugh out loud wit was a surprise. You will smile and fall in love with Kate and her Henry.

While Eloisa James is hit or miss for me, this story was a big hit and one of the best historical romances I've read in a long time. Loved the characters, the plot, the humor. This book is not to be missed!

It starts a little slow. I was worried it was going to be badly written, but after the first few chapters I could hardly wait for real life to get out of the way so I could read what happened next. There are truly laugh out loud moments and almost all the supporting characters are so lovable you want to adopt them yourself. This my absolute favorite take on the Cinderella story. You won't be disappointed.
