Description

In Furies of Calderon, #1 New York Times bestselling author Jim Butcher introduced readers to a world where the forces of nature take physical form. But now, it is human nature that threatens to throw the realm into chaos…

For centuries, the people of Alera have harnessed the furies—elementals of earth, air, fire, water, wood, and metal—to protect their land from aggressors. But no fury can save them from the dangers they face within. A mysterious attack from across the sea has weakened the First Lord. Should he fall, a bloody civil war is inevitable. The responsibility of fending off assassination attempts and treachery within the First Lord’s circle of spies falls on Tavi, the one man with no fury to call...

Very fast paced. Good character development. LOTS of interwoven stories and sub-plots but well integrated. A very good read.

The series is one of the best you can read. It mixes history, fantasy, and the supernatural in an exciting blend. This series is a good read for the entire summer.

Love the book & love the series, but this version of the book is riddled with misspellings & spaceless words (where two separate words should have a space between them, but there isn’t, so they’re stuck together in a confusing compound word). Really hope whoever handles this type of thing fixes it!

I am an avid science fiction and science fantasy book reader. I hv read all the old masters and it is not often that I find an author with the ability to completely compel me to keep reading. I read so fast that I usually haunt the used book stores as if I really get into a book I can have it read in a few days. Well this story kept me captive on meal breaks and after work and I found it hard to put down. The writing is electric and the communication of concepts captivating. I am completely interested and enjoying the story. I don't often find an author whom I feel so satisfied with that I gladly pay for their stories even though I know that with my speed of reading it won't take long to get through the story, this is one of those authors. I highly recommend this series of books!
