Description

There are many books that promise to help you fix a bad relationship. This groundbreaking bestseller is the first one to help you choose whether you should even try—or if you need to go.

Psychotherapist Mira Kirshenbaum draws on years of research and her work with real-life couples to help you make the right decision. She shows you how to diagnose your unique situation with self-analysis and questions like these, which get to the very heart of your problems:

• What sins are forgivable and which ones are unpardonable?
• Is your partner questioning your opinions to the point where you doubt yourself?
• What is your sex life really like, and how important is it?
• Is there real love left between you, and how does it stack up against all that you find unlovable?

Mira Kirshenbaum provides expert guidelines that are the key to making all your choices, concrete steps that you can implement right now, and the ultimate way to determine your personal bottom line—what you need to be happy. This remarkably insightful and probing guide offers advice that lets you see the truth about your relationship—and with wisdom and compassion, it helps you act with the confidence of knowing that whether you decide to go or stay, you are doing the very best thing.

I was able to see things more healthily in more ways than one when I read and reread through this guide about so many situations I found myself in. I’ve owned this book since 2008 I have never ever regretted this buy. I recommend it to many of my personal friends without hesitation. It’s easily become a staple in their lives as well.

I wish someone had handed me this book 10years ago. If you are tired of the limbo life of “Should I stay or should I go?”, this book will give wings to whatever answer is already in your heart. Please do yourself a favor and buy it, even if you don’t read it now, you’ll have it when you need it. I also recommend anyone who starts a relationship to read this, so they can avoid so many of the pitfalls many of us had before getting to read this. Bless on, and know that you are not alone. Others have made it through.
  • A MUST read if you have no clue whether to divorce or stay married.

I came across this book accidentally. It was one of those mentioned in an article I was reading and the title was so catchy, I immediately clicked the link. I had been increasingly dissatisfied in my marriage over a specific set of problems. I was only a few chapters in when the straw that broke the camel’s back happened and I packed a bag and separated from my spouse. This fueled me to finish the book as quickly as possible but still take enough time to allow anger to subside and truly think about the questions the book poses. If you’ve been making PROS/CONS lists about your spouse or even someone you’re dating, put down your pen and read this book and answer the questions honestly. Your answer is in here. You know how therapist are trained to not tell you outright but instead help you arrive at your own conclusion? Not this book, not this therapist. Answer the questions in the book and you will know and she will tell you outright why. Plenty of real life examples of real couples too.

Give this book a solid chance. If you see yourself going back and forth weighing options and tormenting yourself just standing in the quagmire, read this book. Dig deep and you'll find what you need on the other end.

Really good book, had questions with examples, details, descriptions, helped me figure things out, see my relationship issues more clearly. Clarified some misconceptions I had on things I thought I was feeling and/or experiencing. Let me better see the big picture.
