Description

Nerdy Paisley has been attracted to gorgeous billionaire Hercules Lord since high school, but she’s accepted that they’ll never be more than friends — until a chance encounter changes everything.

He calls me PG, and my heart skips a beat.

Nobody calls me that but Hercules Lord, a man I've had a crush on since high school.

We could never be together, though. A romance between us is strictly forbidden. The Lords are old money, and my family, the Groves, are new money—and the Groves and the Lords don't mix. The hate between our families runs deep. Deep enough to create an invisible line in the sand that neither of us ever dared to cross.

But that's never stopped us from staring at each other from across a crowded room. And we've always been friends.

Oh... There was that one night seven years ago. I bet Hercules doesn't know that he's my first.

Yet here we are again, gazing into each other's eyes.

But tonight feels different.

We've grown up.

Our desire for each other wants to defy our restraint.

But truly, really... What will happen if we cross the line?

“Crossing The Line” is the first read in a series of connected standalone books in the 'The Lord Brothers of Manhattan' series. If you enjoy forbidden love, second-chance romance, a deep-rooted family feud, and a love story with passionate slow-burn heat to keep you turning the pages, then dive in! This book also ends happily ever after.

Characters are very wealthy and seemed contrived. Impossible to relate to the lifestyle described

Fun, plot twists, entertaining. The characters love is fairy tale that we all wish for.

First, the positive: there isn’t the usual trope of not telling the other what they’re thinking or feeling. But then there are the negatives: plot development is minimal; the heroine makes a big deal out of the “girl code” but then ignores it; the reader is kept in the dark about certain pertinent facts, even when coming to the resolution of the ‘problem’; there needed to be a proofreader to catch errors in both continuity and grammar. All in all, could have been a really good story, if it had been better developed — might have been a rushed first attempt that would have been better served by some polishing.

You had me until this. The largest cut diamond is in the area of 31-carats

Story started out ok then mixed a fairytale into it and wrecked it. It was so bad I couldn’t finish the final chapter. Forced marriages of cousins to preserve trust funds. Really immature writing.
