Description

**WARNING: This is the final book in The Anchored Series. DO not read this blurb if you haven't already read Anchored, Adrift, and Awoken. SPOILERS.

When nightmares walk the Earth. . .

Alora dismantled Terra, just as the Followers of Isis feared she would, freeing its occupants and restoring the magic (and denizens) of the past. Ra is alive and eager to reunite with his family. Alora desperately hopes he will heal Jesse, once and for all.

But not everyone is pleased, and not everything is as it ought to be...

Ra may be powerful and skilled, but he's also amassed quite a few enemies over the years. As those opposed to his methods assemble against Alora, she must puzzle out the mysteries of her ancient past to solve problems that were never resolved. Can Alora save those she loves without losing herself in the process? Will the world survive the clash of power that was put on hold for millennia?

Climb into your pajamas and find a comfy chair. You're not going to be able to put this down until the last page.

Absolutely amazing conclusion to the series! I loved the action, passion, and connection between the characters! Baker tied everything up in an exciting, unpredictable way. A truly remarkable ending to a unique series with incredible world building. Heart pounding adventure that I stayed up way too late to read!

The final book in Bridget E Baker’s Anchored series does not disappoint. Spoilers if you haven’t read the other three books. We start back up where Awoken ended, all the prison worlds are collapsed. Alora is being asked to rule some pretty well known countries and everyone has their powers on earth now…. Or do they. It seems there is an issue to solve and not only Ra and his people have been preserved and brought back. We get to learn more of Alora’s past Ancient Egypt along with why the prison worlds were created in the first place and some other tough truths. 5 stars all around from me!

I was eagerly awaiting the conclusion to this series, and I was not disappointed. This one made me feel ALLLL the feels. I loved the extra Egyptian mythology/history Baker threw in. You could tell she really researched things and it played like a movie through my imagination. (Seriously, I woke up the next afternoon- had to stay up all night reading it- and was ruminating on the movie I had just seen, then realized nope, it was a book. I LOVE books like that!!). Some of the characters got fleshed out a little more and made me like and/or dislike them even more. Isis, for real! What is your problem!?!? She’s awful. Ra is one complex character and took some time to sort out whose side he really was on. I cried a few times, and really ugly sobbed over Jesse. You’ll know when you get there, just keep a few tissues on standby. I was satisfied with the ending. I could have happily had another book in this series, but I was able to sigh and turn the last page and put it down feeling complete. I almost envy those who have yet to read this series, as they can get the whole story, start to finish. You will not regret the time you spend delving into Terra, Erra, Rra, A, Earth, Egypt, any of it! I may have already ready Capsized twice. It was so full of twists and turns the first go-round that I got even more out of it on the reread.

Baker’s fresh and captivating voice never disappoints. This book left me utterly satisfied with Alora’s journey after a twisty edge-of-my-seat journey. There were a few *GASP* reveals, which are always awesome!

I received a free, advanced reader copy of this book. My opinions are all my own. First, if you haven’t read the rest of this series, run right now to go get book 1 and start there. The build up of the whole series is so important to getting the most out of this book! About Capsized: Whew! While everything did get resolved, nothing got resolved the way I was expecting! And while I can’t say it’s what I wanted for the end, it really is the best way for everything to end. There’s raw, intense emotion. There’s action. There’s a little adventure. Do not miss this book!
  • Incredible book in an incredible series!

What an incredible book! When it comes to Bridget Baker’s books, expect the unexpected. My mind was completely blown by the continuation of this series in Capsized. Fueled by grief in the past and the present, Alora’s/Sekhemet’s decisions wind up affecting everyone, not just herself. How will she fix her mistakes and her relationships? Alora is conflicted in her relationships throughout this series between John who is loyal to her in the present and Kahn who she has an inexplicable link to in the past. Who will she choose? This book totally changed me from Team John to Team Kahn!
  • A great finish to the series

I felt like I had to wait forever, even though I didn't, to be able to read this book! Baker always includes an intriguing story line. I will say the her Birthright series is my absolute favorite ever, so if you enjoyed these definitely go read those books!
  • Thrilling, stunning conclusion to the series

Alora has come a long ways since finding out she wasn’t just a foster kid but actually the most powerful person in the world…and that the fate of the world rested in her hands. But there’s still just one thing that matters to her above all else—her brother Jesse. She needs to figure out how to stop Isis, whether to trust Ra, and if Kahn plays a role in her future, but first she has to make sure Jesse will be okay or nothing else matters. Meanwhile, she’s sifting through the memories of her Egyptian past that are slowly resurfacing, trying to find clues about who to trust and how to fix the mess the world is in. She’s already given so much. Can she find the strength to fight for people she doesn’t even know when she’s at her breaking point? And with conflicting messages from the past, can anyone help her or is she on her own to save the world? This series has been incredible, and the finale does not disappoint. It’s full of shocking twists, answers to mysteries, and breathtaking, richly described ancient Egypt scenes. The character development is incredible. . .not only do the main characters have depth and just feel “real,” but even the villains are understandable in their choices. There’s just the right amount of humor to balance the tension, so prepare for weird looks as you alternately gasp and laugh. And have a tissue handy, because it’s both heart-wrenching and heart-filling.
