  • What a beautiful end to a series

I’m sad to see this series end but Reese Ryan picked the right brother for the final Bourbon Brothers book. In the other books you get the feeling there is more to Cole than being the bad boy that he wants everyone to think he was. Ren was his perfect match. She knew him better than anyone else. It was obvious that Cole found his soulmates in Ren and Mercer. I loved witnessing his instant connection with Mercer. It broke my heart that he didn’t think he was worthy of them. I just wanted to shake him. Ren was so afraid of getting hurt that she wasn’t willing to give Cole another chance. Thank goodness Cole & Ren had people who love them that could see that they belonged together. This was the perfect end to this series. Thank you, Reese for bringing us along for the ride. And thanks for the surprise at the end.
  • A real chance at love

The heat was brought in this book in a slow burn kind of way. Loved it. This book was like second chance meets missed connections. Second chance at love for Renee and for the last single Abbott. Loved this book and how we learned the background of Renee and Cole but we were not held to their teenage angst we were full on adult situations. With feelings of love for the first time and those insecurities that anyone may feel. Love just snuck up on the “bad boy” and the “nerd”.

The last person Cole Abbott expects to see in his hometown of Magnolia Lake is his ex-tutor from high school. Renee Lockwood has grown more beautiful, but he still plans to keep his distance. Things did not end well last time around. And that’s perfect for Renee because she has no patience for a bad boy like Cole no matter how successful and handsome he has become. When Cole and Renee find themselves competing to purchase the same property, the seller proposes an unorthodox plan that would inevitably bring Cole and Renee closer. This is the last book in The Bourbon Brothers series, and by far my favorite. I laughed and smiled almost the entire time. I fell in love with Cole despite him being described as an eternal bachelor. No, it wasn’t the graphic T-shirts, the Timberland boots, or the truck. Cole is an incorrigible flirt, but he’s not all talk. He shows his romantic side in a very practical way. In the spirit of not spoiling any of the plot, I’ll just say I loved the unexpected way Renee is introduced to the idea of a bad boy experiment.

Four and a half stars The Bad Boy Experiment by Reese Ryan is the sixth in her fabulous Bourbon Brothers series. Cole Abbott and Renee Lockwood are both happily single. So when Cole needs a date for a string of upcoming weddings, it only seemed to make good sense for him to invite Renee to accompany him. And if he happens to spend some time with her and her terrific son, Mercer, that’s what friends do. And for Renee, what harm could there be in indulging themselves a little in this sparking chemistry? After all, as a scientist, she knows a lot can be learned from testing one’s hypotheses… Reese Ryan’s story is a lovely friends/rivals to lovers, with strong secondary characters and a wonderful community around them. While sixth in a series, this can be read as a stand alone, but you’ll likely want to catch up with the earlier titles in the series once you’re done!

Renee & Cole The final book In the bourbon brothers series. This is a passionate second chance story. Cole is a bit of a playboy and Renee is a divorced parent. Renee moved back home and she and Cole compete against each other to be able to purchase her grandfathers land all while reestablishing their friendship and discovering passion between them. I recommend this read. It a little bit of second chance and a little bit of friends to lovers and a little bit of fake dating with a lot is passion.
