Description

Mercy Thompson, car mechanic and shapeshifter, must face her greatest fears in this chilling entry in the #1 New York Times bestselling series.

The vampire Wulfe is missing. Since he’s deadly, possibly insane, and his current idea of “fun” is stalking me, some may see it as no great loss. But, warned that his disappearance might bring down the carefully constructed alliances that keep our pack safe, my mate and I must find Wulfe—and hope he’s still alive. As alive as a vampire can be, anyway.

But Wulfe isn’t the only one who has disappeared. And now there are bodies, too. Has the Harvester returned to the Tri-Cities, reaping souls with his cursed sickle? Or is he just a character from a B horror movie and our enemy is someone else?

The farther I follow Wulfe’s trail, the more twisted—and darker—the path becomes. I need to figure out what’s going on before the next body on the ground is mine.

The Mercy Thompson series has become one of the few series that I look forward to reading every single year. For me, Mercy has become one of my favorite literary characters. It felt good to become immersed in her world again. The one thing that I like about Patricia Briggs’ Soul Taken is that it basically picked up where the last book left off. I love when books do that the only thing that I did not like about the story is that at one point it started to drag a bit. This happens sometimes when I read these books. However, I truly enjoyed the ending. I am looking forward to reading the next book.

I love the Mercy books and have been preordering them for over a decade now. This book felt so different from all of the others, and I couldn’t put my finger on it until I finished it. It’s just a bunch of filler. Gone are the captivating character interactions and banter that I have come to cherish. I have cried and laughed and cheered for Mercy and her crew, but this time I didn’t feel a thing. Wulf is one of my favorites, so to say I am disappointed that a book centered around him is so mediocre is an understatement.

Everything you like about Mercy is here in this book. Loyalty, love and bravery. Reads like all the rest of the series smooth and effortless. I will read her books until I die or she does. Thank you Patricia❤️

Well, once again it felt entirely too long between reads in the Mercy Thompson novel. I absolutely love this character as well as all the characters in her stories. My attention was held from beginning to end. Mercy continually surprises me (and herself) with new found abiilties and insights into battling the supernatural wold that challenges the safety of all she loves and protects. At this point, after being a layal fan who has read each of the Mercy Thompson novels multiple times, all the characters feel like old friends. I, as usual, cannot wait for the next release. Thank you, Patricia Briggs for your dedication to Mercy and your fans.

I normally love anything to do with mercy Thompson. Patricia is an amazing writer. That being said, half of this book is just her re explaining everything that happened in the other books. This isn’t a stand alone book. I don’t understand the need to go over everything that’s already happened in the previous books. This book was just a huge let down to me since nothing really happened.
