Rogue Christmas Operation by Juno Rushdan Fugitive Heroes: Topaz Unit book 1. Harlequin romantic suspense. Gage saves Hope from drowning and brings her to the medical center in Benediction, Virginia. A town she’s been forbidden from entering. Hope will do whatever is necessary to find information on her sister and that includes a fake accident and taking advantage of Gage and his access to the town. Wow. Immediate intensity and suspense. Didn’t like that she lied to him with part of her story but she does fix that. I couldn’t imagine such “government” lock down as no available internet, no online shopping, no cell phones or service which means no streaming services, etc. what would I do without my new downloaded dozen books every week? A furious pace, and an impassioned relationship, this story was engaging. Can’t wait for he next in the series!

Juno Rushdan was a new-to-me author a while back when I took a chance on her book, Every Last Breath. As a romantic suspense junkie, it reeled me in and cemented this author as one of my go-to authors for the genre. Unfortunately, I was sidetracked for a little while but came back to her backlist thanks to a recent sale, but I’m currently working my way through all the goodness that is Juno Rushdan’s writing I’d previously not read. Rogue Christmas Operation is the first book in her all-new Fugitive Heroes: Topaz Unit series, and I am officially here for all of them after diving head-first into this one. To sum it up: action, action, and more action, lots of suspense, and romance. So really, it has the trifecta of romantic suspense perfection. But it’s not without emotion, either. Hope’s heartbreak over the loss of her sister is palpable, and Gage’s anger and grief over his betrayal jumped off the pages early on. I found myself looking forward to the team’s retribution as the series continues. The plot is fast-paced and keeps you guessing until the end, and it’s just one more reason I reach for Juno Rushdan’s books when I’m looking for fast-paced action, suspense, thrills, chills, and romance. I’d say she’s thoroughly cemented herself as a great romantic suspense author and ranks among the top of my automatic 1-click authors’ list.

Hope Fischer is on a quest to find out what happened to her sister Faith since she doesn’t believe the story about her suicide. Headed to an off-the-grid town named Benediction, she has to be saved from drowning by a rogue intelligence agent named Gage Graham. Gage is off the grid and hiding and promises to help Hope find out what really happened to Faith. Together, these two define romantic suspense. They fall into and out of danger throughout the course of their undercover investigation, making the book a fast-paced and exhilarating read. I really enjoyed the fire and determination in the main characters as well as the plot that was non-stop action. I also liked getting to know the sheriff of the nearby town. Ryan was a hero nursing his own broken heart but willing to risk his life for fighting for what’s right. The grit and sheer courage of Gage and Hope led to several times when I’m pretty sure I was holding my breath or at least gasping. Intense intrigue and sweet romance combine to make this book a winner for me! Disclaimer Disclosure of Material Connection: I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.
