Description

I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life. – John 8:12

Christians ought to be so totally committed to Christ that it is final. Of looking back over your shoulder to see if there is something better – let that never again be your experience.

I love this book. It tells you the fundamentals of living by Christ. Although, I disagree with something that is stated in this book. Which is “trying” Jesus. I’ve never read the book that was being talked about, but I believe that trying something or someone means to give them a chance to be in our lives. Not everyone grows up knowing about the Gospel, so trying it out has no setback. In fact this way more people are exposed to the Gospel and know about it. Think about it this way: let’s say you know about someone and you want to get to know them, you gotta “try” them to know what they are about. And this initiative action could EVENTUALLY lead to an undying friendship. Most of us won’t just look at someone and IMMEDIATELY be willing to forever be with that person. And I am aware that it is what Jesus did for us. He didn’t know everyone in the world yet he still died for us. But we aren’t Jesus.

Basic Christian thought. Profound and direct. Straight and narrow. Radical in our times today but normal for those who are sold out for Christ.

With theological conciseness and Christ in laser focus, A.W. Tozer writes briefly yet boldly about what a life lived for Jesus looks like.
  • Modern day prophet

God is good. People like Tozier, Murray, Chambers, etc., seem to have what it takes to bring me back to a very sober understanding of how I’m supposed to be living for and loving God for who he is, and what he’s done - how he truly loves me/us.
  • To the point

Simple, straightforward truth that is seldom taught today, and even less often accepted.
