Wicked as Lies (Zyron & Tessa, Part One)

I’ll start by saying that I liked the book. And I have liked the previous books as well. However the three bosses in this book made me really dislike them when I like them in their own previous books. They’re selfish and manipulative and it made me almost not want to finish the book because I just started disliking them more and more.

OMG Tessa and Zy totally stole my heart! Shayla Black has this amazing ability to make love her characters in their books but get super mad at them when they are secondary characters (I am looking at you Hunter, Joaquin, Logan!). This book kept me on the edge of my seat just waiting to read what happened next! I can't wait to read the conclusion to their story in the next book!

The Zac Efron look-a-like has been assigned to protect a fellow co-worker, a woman that just so happens to push every one of his happy buttons. When the assignment takes on a whole new angle, Zyron finds himself breaking rules as the plot twists and turns. The woman stuck in the middle is Tessa Lawrence, office secretary and brand-new mom to an amazing newborn. Strong and independent, Tessa is determined to make it on her own. When things get dicey, Zyron enters the picture, and the tension only grows from there. The question is, will they be left standing when the tension finally breaks? Shayla Black has expertly woven yet another tale of danger, intrigue, love, lust, and deception with twists and turns no one will see coming. A definite go-to author for me, Shayla successfully creates characters that jump off the page and into your heart, your very soul! Believable and infinitely REAL, these characters will speak to you. Zy and Tess’s story with the build up and the addition to Hallies new born is so great and the cliff hanger. Plus the friendship between Zy and Trees is good. You can’t help but root for Zy and Tessa and the possibilities except the road blocks that are in their way. They have chemistry and can’t wait for them to see if it’s combustible. Seeing the stories from all the other stories from another side is interesting. This book has much action and there are many unanswered things that I can’t wait for the next book to see where this story Is going. Shayla Black has made another great series and and keeps all the characters connected. Seeing and hearing from many favorites.
