Naughty All Night

Kate, a hot shot attorney in Los Angeles, finds herself stuck in the mud on the side of the rode on her way to Lost Harbor. Kate left LA in a hurry, afraid for her life. So she’s not exactly prepared for mud season in Alaska. In her high heels and leather jacket, she makes for an interesting site when Darius stops to help. Not sure whether to trust Darius, she “arms” herself with bear spray. Although Darius finds Kate attractive and amusing, he also KNOWS she’s high maintenance—especially when she takes off without so much as a thank you. So he heads off to perform his set at the local bar. Darius, the new Fire Chief of Lost Harbor, considers himself somewhat “broken” in the love/relationship department. Having been married and divorced twice, he’s vowed to NEVER give his heart to anyone again. When quirky Kate stumbles into his life, he might just have to change his plans. She’s funny, talkative, kind, and a hard worker (she helps her grandmother out at the peony farm). And she’s somehow worked her way under Darius’ skin. When a string of mysterious fires breaks out, Kate believes trouble has followed her from LA to Lost Harbor. She can't and won’t allow anything to happen to the town and family she loves. So she makes plans to leave... Kate, Darius, and the Kama Sutra rug were hilarious! Kate’s ability to talk about everything and nothing at the same time was humorous. I loved the unique twist at the end. I thought I had the mystery figured out, but was so wonderfully wrong! LOVED the story and can’t wait to read Maya’s story. This is a complete stand-alone and you do not have to read the other novels to understand the story. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

Didn’t want to put this book down! Darius was not going to fall in love again after two divorces, he was DONE. All his energy went into being fire chief, playing hockey and his bass. Kate was looking for normalcy and to get away from threats in LA. A little naughtiness gets thrown in the mix by some mud on the road, literally. I loved the banter and the intrigue! I cannot wait for more from Lost Harbor!

ARC for honest review with no compensation Naughty All Night is book 5 in the Lost Harbor, Alaska series by Jennifer Bernard and am just loving this series! Makes me want to visit this place.. Next up is Darius Boone and Kate Robinson. Kate gets stuck in the mud and a hottie gets her out. Later that night she sees him again at the bar playing bass. Opposites attract, sparks fly but what she doesn’t know is Darius is the man she is trying to evict from her home and the Fire Chief! Laughter, sweet, some suspense, sparks of both kind (fire and attraction) innuendos, come backs and so much more. Can’t wait for the next book in this series!!

This is another fantastic addition to the Lost Harbor, Alaska series. Kate returns to Lost Harbor, after quitting her job to represent her criminal father. After she got him a very good deal, she no longer feels safe there. Emma, her grandmother, has a peony farm and Kate has always loved it there. While driving, she gets stuck in the mud and a gorgeous man rescues her. She doesn’t know it’s the man she’s trying to evict from her duplex. They’ve been emailing each other. Darius is the Lost Harbor Fire Chief and he play the bass occasionally. Maya Badger, the Police Chief, is one of a Kate’s best friends and when she calls and invites her to the Moose is Loose for some live music, she goes. The bassist is her rescuer from earlier. She decides to go talk to him, but things don’t end how she expected. No spoilers, but I will say this story isn’t just a romance story, it’s also got suspense and a couple of surprises in store for us. I can’t wait to read the next book Jennifer Bernard has for us. I received an advanced reader copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.

This book has all elements of an intriguing drama with out-of-the-blue surprises and an amazing romance where major sparks between Darius, Lost Harbor’s Fie Chief and Kate, the reformed “naughty” teen to formidable lawyer. They generate intense heat while trying to keep their emotions out of the equation. There’s witty banter and clever dialogue between all of Lost Harbor’s cast of characters. There’s the interesting family/friend dynamics that are complicated but, full of unconditional love. Kate's grandmother, Emma is a riot! There’s mystery and arson. And, there’s a happy ending that is so incredibly satisfying that you will be glad you read this book.

Well, well, well, Naughty Kate and her Hottie fire chief Darius certainly heat up the sheets in this wonderfully sweet, sassy and sexy love story. I love this series so much and I love how it feels like Jenny Bernard brings us right to Lost Harbor, Alaska and drops us in with the locals so we can settle in for an awesome tale. This story is so enjoyable and flows so nicely from beginning to end. The supporting cast of characters is wonderful! There are a few other things happening that drive this storyline besides the budding relationship between Darius and Kate and it’s all those things that kept me glued to my Kindle. I absolutely loved this book!!

Oh, the verbal foreplay! There’s nothing I like more than witty double entendres between a hero and heroine. Well, up close and personal time, as well as a bit of suspense also make for an excellent story, as well. So my 5 star rating of Naughty All Night should not be surprising, since this book has all that and more! Kate is saucy and funny, with a quick lawyerly mind and a smart attitude. Not surprising, given her feisty, peony-growing grandma, who raised her during the summer of her youth. Darius is my favorite kind of hero...super caliente firefighter with a kind heart and a dirty talking mouth. These who grabbed me from page one and didn’t let go, even after the book ended. While I’ve enjoyed the series since book one, Naught All Night can be read as a stand-alone, but I think new readers will want to go back and savor the rest. Bernard brings Lost Harbor, Alaska to life and give those of us in the Lower 48 and beyond a small but tantalizing taste of our 49th state. It’s not all snow and wilderness, folks. It’s small towns, beautiful scenery, friendly people and great romance. Book me a ticket there now!
