The author is trying to make a well-developed set of characters into a suspenseful book. It is frustrating and fragmented when just as a plot reveals a development the author departs from that thread and introduces new threads 3/4 of the pages are devoted to multiple strands then in the final pages tries to bring everything together. Most is superficial and unrealistic. I really liked Larson’s trilogy an the characters but am let down by an ersatz inferior work.

I gave this author three chances. He took an amazing series with lots of great characters and squandered them in overly complex plots. Additionally, he takes characters from the original series, states big changes in their lives, wit NO explanations. I’m done.

This book too convoluted which required too many subterfuges in order to make it work. It was difficult to keep all the characters straight.

The book was a disappointment. Salander was barely even in the story. It was mostly composed of the Sherpa and setting up the plot seemed to go on for awhile. It wasn’t exciting at all.

Meshs “Thin Air” Everest story line into Dragon Girl theme. I enjoyed the earlier books more.

The original trilogy was so sharp and feminist. This book leaves much to be desired. Characters are one-dimensional and a new female character falls into old tropes of (even smart, independent) women who at their core only want a man. Very disappointed.

My last Salander book. Main characters all go around tired, preoccupied, emotionally distracted. Constantly. Too boring.

Not much Salander in here at all, and when there is, it's one dimensional emotions and lack of human interaction. Really seems poorly thought out and without the depth of previous novels.
