My Dad, John Thomas Casey, was born in Minneapolis in December, 1908, the month the Chinese emperor Pu Yi ascended the throne at age two and the U.S.’s first credit union was formed in New Hampshire. He was a skinny kid who lived a spoiled childhood. His mother and father doted on him, their only son. They fed him his favorite meals of meat and potatoes.
