It started out really good. Pulled me right in. Then it got aggravating. Too many points of view. And the writing got very high school. Wish the summary had said it was a triangle romance. I never would’ve downloaded it.

Dreams of Darkness by Eve Langlais 1st in The Forsaken Chronicles. Cliffhanger. Dark paranormal urban fantasy. Small bites of humor in the characters. Violence included but not overly detailed. A squeamish moment or two for sure. Definitely Not a romance. Adara doesn’t know who she is and if she tries to remember her past she feels debilitating pain She dreams. “She would never escape her dreams of darkness.” Two would be heroes try to save and protect her: Logan, the wolf pack alpha, and Titus, a vampire. She doesn’t understand why they want to help or even if she wants to live. As pieces of her memory return, the wolf and vampire work together against the zombies thrown in her path. ......to be continued.

Adara is such an enigma. Beautiful but pitiful, strong, but terrified, broken but... not. This entire story help my attention from the first word and has me near begging for more. What happened to her? WHY is she forsaken? WHO is she really? And that epilogue! I’m dying to learn more! Very well written, creative, and different from all the others, Eve Langlais has delivered the first in a promising new series, and I’m already hooked!
