Description

Everything inside of him is screaming that he needs to run, he needs to go, he needs to escape.

Lane Warner is used to being overshadowed and overlooked.

After all, he’s the youngest brother and the most laid back one in the family. He’s the one known for going with the flow and not making waves, even when things seem to be at their worst.

Very few things in life have had the ability to rile Lane up and get under his skin. At the top of that list is his childhood friend Brynn Fox…no…Brynn Warner. The fact that they share a last name was the one thing that has the power to light him up and spin him out of control like no other. There was no calm, cool and collected when it comes to all the reasons why Brynn had to become part of his family.

It’s slowly killing him to keep wanting what he can’t have, so Lane sees only one way to stop himself from doing something they’ll both regret…he has to leave.

Everything inside of her is calling out to find him, to follow, to bring him home.

Brynn Warner is used to being stuck between a rock and a hard place.

After all, she’s the daughter of an unrepentant gold-digger who never once blinked at being the cause of her daughter’s pain and suffering.

Very few things in her life have ever brought happiness and a sense of security. At the very top of that list is Lane Warner. She has unwaveringly loved the youngest Warner since the first minute she laid eyes on him. He was everything Brynn ever wanted and everything she knew she could never have.

Sometimes the right choice is the one that hurts the most and Brynn’s had to make a few that felt like they might be the end of her.

When Lane takes off, one thing is clear, the only choice Brynn has is to go after him.

She’s going to bring her wayward cowboy home….whatever it takes.

Escape is a standalone novel, the third book in the Getaway series, which features the hardheaded and brokenhearted Warner brothers and the women who dare to love them. These boys are very good at putting the wild in wilderness.

This series is heartfelt and endearing. I grew to love the characters and became invested in their success. Highly recommend they be read in order but can be stand-alone also.

I love all of Jay’s book. I am keeping my fingers crossed for a Ten and Webb book. Loved the crossover appearances from the Point in this series.

I know I’ve said this countless times before, but I’ll go right ahead and say it again—this is THE BEST series Jay Crownover has ever written. Ever. And knowing how much I love and adore all the books she already wrote, that’s truly saying something. But these brothers... they’re just absolutely EVERYTHING. I want to be a Warner; I want to be a part of their family. My heart is still pounding wildly in my chest. My emotions and all my insides are still in shambles from so much love for Lane and Brynn and everything they showed me here. These two are some of the most kindhearted, loving and honorable characters I’ve read about. I don’t think I’ll ever stop smiling every time I think about them and their story. Every book, every character, even down to the smallest moment in this series gets better, more intense and more heart-ripping than ever. All the feels and emotions are just flying off the pages from this one. This author’s words? They’ll squeeze and grip your heart, and pierce straight right through your soul. She’ll torture and make you drown in agony and pain, but the light at the end of the tunnel for all the Warner boys—they’re every bit worth the hair-raising, nail-biting and heart-shattering suffering you’ll experience throughout the entire ride. Lane Warner will make you weak in the knees and madly in love with him. He’ll prove to you multiple times why he deserves to be in the spotlight just like his brothers. That he’s special and lovable just the way he is. His hero complex and huge heart made me want to smother him with the love and affection missing in his life all those years before he and Brynn got their s**t together. Brynn Fox will make you want to step up being a responsible, nurturing and selfless woman. If there ever was someone who’s made for the youngest Warner—one who can give him the happiness and unconditional love he deserves—it’s Brynn. His best friend. His lover. His world. This woman is quite something else—she has the strongest and bravest of hearts, regardless of everything she’s been through in the past, and you’ll see just how much in this book. Despite all of the bumps in the road these two barreled through in finding their way to each other, the unbreakable bond and palpable, sizzling chemistry they share will make you jealous and yearn for something even the slightest bit close to what they have. These Warners—the immense respect and loyalty and love they have for one another—will absolutely make you want to belong in their family and be one of them badly. This book blew me away completely. It left my jaw hanging with the curveball it threw my way. I definitely did not see where that road trip back to the ranch was taking me. It was shocking and painful, but it still left my heart filled to the brim at the end of the day. ESCAPE isn’t just a beautifully heartbreaking, yet hopeful tale of unrequited love and second chances, but it’s also an addictive, suspenseful adventure you wouldn’t ever want to end. This isn’t your typical cowboy romance at all. No—this book is exceptionally so much more than that.

I love this series and was so happy when Escape finally came....Brynn and Lane deserved happiness and love. I was very thrilled to read some “connections “ to some of Jay’s other series (love Marked Men and who didn’t enjoy visiting The Point?). I now anxiously await Webb and Ten’s story. Great read, enjoy!!!!

I’m going to start this review off by saying don’t do what I need and jump into this series without reading the first one. Escape was the first book that I’ve read in The Getaway series, even though it can be read as a standalone, I couldn’t quite connect with the story as much as I wanted to. With that being said, I’m going to give this one a re-read after I get through the first two books in this series. And I’ll have to update my review because I know my thoughts will change. Jay isn’t a new to me author, I fell in love with her work on the Marked Men series. And I’m not sure why, but I jumped off the bandwagon for a while. Anyways back to the review, right from the very beginning, you can pick up on the solemn tone between Brynn and Lane. And it’s absolutely heartbreaking. I didn’t even fully know what was going on between these two but my heart was just breaking for them. It’s so very clear that there’s just so much history between Brynn and Lane. With so much time between them and tiptoeing around each other instead of sorting their stuff out, it’s a recipe for a painful yet healing journey. It’s evident that these two absolutely love each other, it’s just so deep between them, how can there be anyone else for them? And I must say, things that happen during the teenage years shouldn’t have such a deep effect on someone especially when it comes to love. As a teenager, you’re still figuring things out and you make dumb decisions. Those two weren’t ready for certain things at that age, so Brynn’s denial of Lane was understanding, yet he should have seen past that and moved on. Now that they’re older, it’s great to see them come together to work it all out. One thing that threw for a loop was the additional story within their story. I found that it took away from Brynn and Lane, which ended up bringing more characters into the center of things. But I definitely got how Jay wanted to bring in new characters, where it seems like it’ll be potential for more books with these new additions. Overall, I enjoyed the book. I love that despite the time and hurt, they were able to work their issues out. Honesty will do a lot of things for you!
