Description

A FLIRTY AND SEXY FAKE ENGAGEMENT ROMANCE

It was supposed to be just for show.
So how did he fall so hard?

Matthew Herrington might own three gyms, but he’s still a high-school dropout, and he knows damned well that he’s not good enough for the likes of Hannah Donovan. She’s smart. Gorgeous. And all building her legal career. Definitely out of Matthew’s league.

Then she asks him for help ... as her stand in fiancé. And he’s never been known as someone who’d let a lady down.

Matthew figures he’s in for a workout when Hannah shares that they’ve got to convince her wealthy financier stepfather that he’s a stand-up boyfriend for his daughter ... but he doesn’t expect their fake date to turn into a wild night of passion that is the highlight of both their sex lives. Matthew’s willing to go the distance, but when Hannah risks losing everything because of him, he knows he just should walk...

But his banged-up, beat-down, never-say-die heart?

Well, it has other ideas…

Each book is a STANDALONE romance with an HEA and an overarching story about a group of friends and the local bar they love. Totally hot and utterly binge-worthy!

In Too Deep by J. Kenner is the tenth book in her new 12 book Man of the Month series. Told in dual POV this is the story of Hannah and Matthew, the attorney who needs a fake fiancé and the gym owner who thinks he isn't worthy of being more than the fake in their agreement. Hannah is branching out on her own, well, sort of, with her friend and soon to be partner in law, Easton. Quitting her job was a mistake though, then she discovers there is a clause that prevents her receiving any payouts on ehr retirement fund. She needs $50 grand to invest in the law partnership and refuses to borrow it from Easton. She has a trust fund and money set up but her mother and step-father are unwilling to hand it over and would like it to go towards "setting up her future" read as home-life as part of a happily married couple. What she needs is a fake fiancé. Matthew is the kind of guy who is looking for a real relationship and not a quick hookup and tumble in the sheets. When his crazy sister throws this fake fiancé situation in his lap like it's a done deal he has no choice but to go ahead and try not to fall even further for this woman. When he starts to doubt his worthiness and then is further placed under scrutiny by Hannah's step-father he decides to just let her go. Well-written and well-paced, this was another great read and I'm excited with how each of the upcoming characters are gently weaved into the plots in earlier stories without being obtrusive to the current story. Enjoy!

This was one fantastic read! I absolutely loved it. Unfortunately it was too short but it still rocked. I was worried that Matthew and Hannah weren't getting their HEA but they did. I loved how they came together and the idea was genius. I really liked Hannah's dilemma. She had a few decisions to make. I'm so glad she fought for Matthew. He was a great guy. He just needed a little push.

“I wasn’t looking for you, but I found you. And now I need you” Hello Mr. October! As the series winds down, I can’t say enough how much I have enjoyed these stories! Hannah Donovan is ready for a new start. On the cusp of opening a new law firm with her bestie, Easton, she’s got one snag. The money. She knows where to get it and how, but she needs one last piece of the puzzle. A man. One that will convince her mother to release the inheritance from her father. Matthew Herrigan. Will he come to her rescue and pretend to be hers? This would be totally fake and temporary. Right? Matthew Herrigan has been attracted to Hannah for a while now. She’s perfect. Now she needs his help. He can’t tell if this is a godsend opportunity to be near her or the worst decision he’s ever made. She’s so far out of his league, there’s now way he’s deserving of her. When this arrangement is over, will he be able to walk away? There no way they can work. Right? I really enjoyed their story!

Jun 12, 2018 · edit really liked it “Hannah reached out her hand for his, and the simple gesture tugged at his heart. That sense of being a team. Of having a partner in the world. Someone you loved and loved you back. For this weekend, apparently, it was his to enjoy. Too bad it was all fake.” Lawyer Hannah Donovan finds herself in a sticky situation- to get her inheritance, she has to prove to her parents that she is in a stable relationship that they will approve of. And sweet chivalrous gym owner Matthew Harrington is just the man to help her by pretending to be her fiancé. Matt has no problem “pretending” to adore Hannah, but as their act evolves into a real connection, he thinks she deserves more than he can offer. Can Matt get the wife & family he wants when Hannah has no room in her life for anything outside her career? Find out in this cute fake fiancé story, tenth in the Man of the Month series.

Matthew, our favorite gym owner and Hannah, Easton’s bestie start off as a pretend couple and of course, that doesn’t last long. The truth always comes out, but will they be able to make it work? This was good, fast paced read and I enjoyed it. 4.5/5 stars.

I can't believe we are almost done with this series. Matthew and Hannah are the focus of book 10 and have been in previous books, however you do not need to read the others to enjoy their story. Hannah is a lawyer and good friends with Easton from book 9. In his book she asked Easton to start up a new law practice with her. What she wasn't expecting was for her funds to start this new practice to be tied up in her retirement without being able to cash it in. Hannah needs the money her dad left her in his will to get the start up funds and the only way to accomplish this is to show her mom and step-dad that she is settling down. This is where Matthew comes in. Selma, his sister and girlfriend of Easton happily volunteered Matthew to pose as Hannah's finance to her parents to show that she is ready to settle down. As I'm sure you can guess, this doesn't go off without a hitch. What Hannah doesn't know is that Matthew has always had a secret thing for her and he's not sure how detached he can be for this role. Hannah also realizes she may have a thing for Matthew as well but the last thing she needs is a new relationship while trying to start up her new business. I liked this couple well enough but I did not like her parents! I won't say too much to give it away but I wish there was some justice done on that part. Maybe that's being saved for a sides story in book 11. Griff is up next and I think he is one of the most anticipated stories for me. I think he's been in every single book so far and I'm very intrigued about how he is going to handle being the Man of the Month with his scars that he takes great care into hiding. It will be interesting to see how J Kenner handles it. Brief Series Description: The Man of the Month series all started when the local bar called The Fix on Sixth, owned by Tyree, was on the verge of closing. Long time friends Jenna, Reece, and Brent jump in to invest in the bar and come up with ways to raise money and to bring more customers in. One of those ideas was to hold a Calendar of the Month contest in the bar focusing on local celebrities. Each book in the series represents the man of that month.

A fantastic read filled with all the feels. Hannah and Matthew are working together to make Hannah’s dreams come true. Will his social status be too much? Will Hannah lose the one thing she’s been desperately wanting without realizing it? I’m Too Deep is the 10th book in the Man of the Month series, yet it can be read as a standalone. It’s incredibly well written and a quick, enjoyable read. J Kenner has done an outstanding job of using descriptive writing and had me falling in love with her characters.
