Description

Hard-hitting divorce lawyer James J. Sexton shares his insights and wisdom to help you reverse-engineer a healthy, fulfilling romantic relationship with How to Stay in Love.

With two decades on the front lines of divorce Sexton has seen what makes formerly happy couples fall out of love and “lose the plot” of the story they were writing together. Now he reveals all of the “what-not-to-dos” for couples who want to build—and consistently work to preserve—a lasting, loving relationship. Sexton tells the unvarnished truth about love and marriage, diving straight into the most common issues that often arise from simple communication problems and relationships that develop by “default” instead of design.

Though he deals constantly with the heartbreak of others, he still believes in romance and the transformative power of love. This book is his opportunity to use what he has learned from the mistakes of his clients to help individuals and couples find and preserve lasting connection.

There is a lot of insight to be gleaned from this book. For me atleast I need to read it a couple of times in order to internalize it thoroughly.

The author says it best with “Find a way to stay together happily or find a way to split up happily. As I see it, those are your two options!” Funny, intriguing and well-written, James Sexton’s engaging reveal of his two decade career as a New York divorce attorney is worth reading and keeping around for quick reference. Whether you’re thinking of getting married, want to keep your marriage alive and thriving, or are divorced and interested in cultivating civility between your ex and children, this book covers all the bases. My life is better because I read this book. Thank you James. CT

Great book! What and eye opener! I seen him on the Steve Harvey show and just the short overview that was given about the book I was curious to see what it looked like from the lawyers point of view. Sometimes (almost all the time) the best advice and insight can come from someone you would least expect it from, or want to hear it from. A lot of his views on things are in line with mine. Hit the nail on the head with the social media infidelity machine! I got exactly what I was expecting from this book and then some. The main reason for reading this book was to gain insight from the professional level on all aspects of marriage and relationships and to better myself as a companion, boyfriend, fiancé, and husband. The do’s and do not’s, some things seem to be common sense but are regularly overlooked or never a thought is given to even the most obvious in a relationship.
