It helped me get a better idea of what I was dealing with when it comes to depression in terms of harmful ways of thinking. Enjoyed the in-depth look into ruminative thinking, but I didn’t love the sales pitches throughout the book. But hey, it’s a free book and I’d definitely recommend it for someone who deals with depression but doesn’t really know a lot about it.

This book is primarily focused on natural supplements, sleep regulation, nutritional foods and mental strategies to overcome depression. While the book is comprehensive in these strategies, I’m not 100% convinced common anti-depressant’s along with these strategies would be a better approach. I also wish they would focus more on the benefits of exercise. Overall a good read to understanding depression and how to overcome it.
  • Great book that explains the Why and How of depression

I decided to read this book after searching the book store for a free quick read. It was very relevant as I struggle with depression. This book dives into the why’s of depression and explains things from an understandable psychological standpoint that anyone can understand. The book also goes into the how’s of depression such as how it affects you, how your brain processes it, and more importantly, how to cope and overcome depression. This is a wonderful FREE resource to anyone struggling with depression that answers a lot of questions and gives solutions outside of just popping an antidepressant everyday (and the book explains how medication isn’t always the answer). I really look forward to putting the fact based coping mechanisms within this book into practice to help overcome depression. Definitely a great read for anyone and I was able to finish it in an hour.
  • Worthless. Redundant explanations but no coping mechanisms.
