The Duke of Nothing

This story was good, but, in my opinion, not nearly as good as the others. The main characters were likable but they didn't seem to have as much depth or strength of character and the female antagonist just suddenly went from being a witch to nice in the blink of an eye? It was still a good, quick read but I was a little let down after having been anticipating this one for so long.

4.5* Mistaken identity and a forbidden attraction are at the center of this wonderful book. Baldwin Undercross, the Duke of Sheffield’s life changed the day his father died. As days turned into months Baldwin found all the duets his father hid from his family. Now to save his family from ruin he must marry and marry well. Baldwin see an enchanting woman out on the terrace who evokes feelings he’s never known and is surprised by her American accent. She must be the heiress his mother wants him to meet, this might not be as bad as he fears. Helena Monroe faced scandalous ruin in Boston, she is now her cousin Charity’s companion on her search for a titled husband in London. Escaping the crush of the ball Helena is out on the terrace when she meets a man who sparks long forgotten feelings. Never getting his name, she unknowingly met the man at the top of Charity’s list, Baldwin Undercross. Baldwin and Helena dance around each other, fighting their attraction knowing it can go nowhere. Love has a way of trumping everything, can they have the love that they want or will all be taken away? This is such a great series and a must read!
